Hi Product Hunters. Let me introduce – DeskMinder². The biggest and completely free update. This is my second product launch. The app has come a long way and has been completely reimagined. Now it’s not just a reminder, it’s also a tool for task focus.
Key changes:
A completely reimagined app, with every pixel on the screen refined
Added modes to switch between tasks and reminders
Redesigned fullscreen notifications
Improved and refined design – now truly glass-like and flexible
Introduced an experimental Audio-Haptic effect
Added the ability to animate the Menubar icon
New screen showing the full history of all tasks and reminders
Quick reminder rescheduling now available
Improved integration with Apple Reminders
Custom shortcuts added, along with the option to quickly cancel a timer
Performance and all animations significantly optimized
App size reduced by more than 60x
As always, I’d love to hear your feedback 💚, ideas, and suggestions for improvement.
You know I always listen and continuously work on making the product better.
I’ve already tried it and love how simple and effective it is. It really helps me stay focused throughout the day. Wishing you continued success and lots of upvotes today!
@peterbuch Yes, absolutely. You can create both reminders and tasks. If you enable sync with Apple Reminders, the tasks will stay there as a to-do list, and they will also be available within the app on a separate History screen. I plan to continue developing the to-do functionality and eventually create a full-featured task list.
@__tosh Yes, I understand you 🙌 That’s why the product is designed to be fully usable without a mouse. You can trigger it with a shortcut and then switch between entering the time and the reminder/task text.
Nice launch! Love how simple DeskMinder² is—sometimes that’s all you need. Do you plan to keep it minimal, or add more ways to customize reminders later? Either way, one-click reminders sound perfect for my chaotic workflow.
Most ‘minimal’ apps sacrifice function—yours packs insane utility into every pixel. That task history screen alone would save me 10 ‘Wait, what was I doing?’ moments a day. (Petition for Android next!)
@rani_zagita Thanks for the feedback! I’m not planning an Android version 😅 for now, but I do plan to release a mobile version for iOS soon. It will work both as a standalone app and as a companion to the current desktop version.
@rolambuilds We don’t collect any user data or statistics, but judging by the reviews and ratings, many people (myself included) find that this app helps them stay focused.
Congrats on the DeskMinder launch! This app has been a game‑changer for me over the past six months. I love how effortlessly I can set quick reminders and tasks right from my desktop and the full‑screen alerts are exactly what I needed to stay on track
@arambdev Thank you for supporting the product since day one. It means a lot to me, and I’m glad that you’ve been using the app for such a long time and continue to be part of it.
@dmitriychuta As a coder who gets too focused, this tool is perfect! Gentle full-screen notifications are exactly what I need to remember other priorities. Great job – it's going into my workflow!
@hi_caicai Thank you! In addition to the fluid animation and transparent widget, the app also features an Audio-Haptic effect that I’m really proud of. As you stretch the timer, you’ll hear a unique sound and feel it through your laptop’s trackpad it’s something you have to try 🙌

Very cool. Will try. Since my ADHD made it impossible to finish watching the video I have a question:
Is the idea to replace my todo list?
