The login requirement on the homepage is a HUGE turn off. Please let me browse the site and understand what it is before giving you my information. That said, I like the curated, crowdsourced DIY packages and the site is well-designed. Any particular favorites, @katie_bolin?

@rrhoover Etch your own glassware is a good one: http://www.darbysmart.com/projec... I'm so used to unlocking with Facebook...sadly.

@rrhoover I couldn't agree more. I liked MakersKit (http://www.producthunt.com/posts...) and bought a few things from them and was excited to see what Darby Smart had to offer. The homepage was as far as I got.

DIY has been on the climb! It all depends on the types of projects offered, and Darby Smart has quite the fun collection.

Found Darby Smart through a Facebook Ad (very well targeted, Darby Smart people), so logging in through Facebook didn't give me pause, but I can definitely where that would be off-putting, @rrhoover. Seems that they're following the Groupon/LivingSocial kind of "sign-up to unlock deals" model. The kits themselves have been really great so far (I've gotten two) and I've really enjoyed doing something crafty without having to piece all the supplies together myself.
