Daily is a dev news curator delivering relevant updates to your new tab. It gathers and ranks articles from tens of different sources to help you optimize your time and boost your knowledge.
Hi PH, ⚡
It's Ido from team Daily 🤓We have a super exciting day ahead of us!
For those who don’t already use Daily, it is a new-tab Chrome & Firefox extension that helps developers stay updated with the most relevant dev news.
We've built Daily because we, as developers, find ourselves spending a lot of time looking for valuable articles and blog posts. It wastes a lot of time that otherwise could have been used for coding and being productive. We are here to help other devs around the world save time by collecting, ranking and delivering the best dev news out there.
And today we’re taking it a step further. 🎤
We've just launched Daily 2.0! 🎉
A completely redeveloped and redesigned version of Daily. It aims to help busy developers rock like never before. 🤘🏿
We value our user community. When we went back to the whiteboard, user feedback was the first thing we turned to. We are proud to announce that Daily 2.0 is:
- Much faster 🚀
- Better looking 🎨
- More private 👻
- Highly customizable 🔧
Enough said! Update your version and continue hacking. If you don't have Daily yet, simply install the extension, open a new tab and you’re all set.
@rashidaziz Glad you love it! An Israeli studio did it for us: https://www.marketmaster.co.il/. Not sure if they take projects outside of the country but you can approach.
@idoshamun awesome, thanks!
I love the idea, really want to try it out - however, I really like my current new tab page, I don't wanna change it. Do yall have a website or something I can access Daily without setting it as my new tab page?
I use Daily daily. It's a must-have for any developer that wants to stay in the know without being nerd-sniped. Ido and the Daily team have done an incredible job with this extension!
Pros:
Very fast. Only displays topics I'm interested in. Does not track users. Light/Dark themes. Toilet mode (legacy)
Cons:
I've been using it for over 8 months and I love it. No cons.
Thanks for sharing your review, currently we are making a lot of efforts to perfect the new tab extension and maybe later we will launch a standalone product as well
Really love that! it is simple, clean and have a mobile option. I tried many apps to get last news about tech and etc, like RSS Feed, but never got very satisfied so far, but now i am just really happy with this extension. In fact I created an account on producthunt just to give a good feedback. Congrats to developers, made a really good job, and keep going!!!!
I noticed that some of the tags are not available in the search when they are used in the articles, ie I search for the PHP (it doesn't exist) but then I see articles using the php tag.
Overall it is good but I can't filter on all the resources I wanted even though they are (seemingly) available.
Pros:
Provides interesting articles in a convenient place
Cons:
When creating your dashboard you are limited to a small set of options for areas of interest without searching.
I use it since one month, and I love it! 👍🏼 But it can unfocus me in my work. I would love to deactivate it every morning during 4 hours, and use it the rest of the day.
Pros:
Providing interesting articles
Cons:
It would be perfect with an additional feature: The possibility to activate/deactivate it during some hours, when I need to be focus.
Whenever I start a new thing, these lists distract me. I mean, they can distract me because they are that interesting, but still, I need focus. That's why I have multiple separate browser profiles, one for work, one for critical online accounts, like banking, domain registration etc. and one for aimless browsing, social media etc. Suffice it to say, I only installed it on the last mentioned browser profile. So there is no con anymore.
Pros:
Excellent list of articles, Fast Loading, Works Offline, Good UI.
@yeoengheng We use nodejs for the central api, golang for peripheral services (I'm new to golang), mysql, cloud functions for content pipeline and vuejs for frontend

Been using Daily for over a year and have found amazing content through it without any struggle.
Pros:Best new tab extension for developers. Period.
Cons:There were a few which this new update solved for me. Ido is extremely responsive and that's very helpful. So, none for now.
