Gain new developer skills every time you open a New Tab! Choose which programming languages you want to get better at in options and get smarter every time you open a New Tab. All you need is 30 seconds to read and understand snippets of code and improve your knowledge. Saw something useful? Just copy/paste it into your code and you're golden!

Great ideia! It's a good complement to https://devfreebooks.github.io ☺️

@crp_underground Thank you for taking time to check it out!

Thank you for your work :) Looking forward to Angular or/and Ionic!
Stefan Petrovic
@maximkunytsa Thank you for checking it out! I'll be working on adding more languages in the future!

I published similar product last year Coding Tips . I pull information from Stackoverflow and github. This seems cool. All the best.

@sasi513 Hey, just checked out your extension great job, I like that it takes the info from such information rich sources like git and stackoverflow. All the best to you too!

Instead of a new tab page, why not a simple website where a piece of advice is displayed randomly at each refresh?

Pros:

Good concept, always keen on learning new stuff

Cons:

I don't like it to be on the New Tab Page. I already have a NTP extension that I don’t plan to replace.

Stefan Petrovic
Hi Eli, Thanks for the review! I understand that if there is an extension you are used to having on new tab, you wouldn't want to replace it. However this was from the plan imagined as a new tab extension. That being said, what I could possibly do is create a web version of the extension in the future 😄
Tim Shnaider
Got to pick one buddy! The idea of it popping up on NTP is the core value prop.
Harry O'Brien
I had this same problem with WorkingOn extension - so instead I use chrome extension Crontabs that opens WorkingOn tab every hour, mon-fri. If you locate the url of the chrome extension you can schedule the tab to open to front however often you like using Crontabs. The 30 Seconds of Knowledge extension will have to be installed and turned on, but you can give priority to your other extension for NTP control. https://chrome.google.com/websto...

Hello PH! Glad to share this Chrome Extension with you. Recently I became responsible for mentoring two junior developers at my job and I got an idea to create this project. Hope you'll like it. All feedback is welcome. Looking forward to hearing what all of you think!

A Good way of mixing "work & learn" together.

Pros:

User Experience , Content, Creative Thinking

Cons:

Limited Tech Stack CSS, JS, Python, PHP, React. Hope more tech stack will be added soon.

Stefan Petrovic
Hi @velmurugans , thank you for the feedback, I'll be working on adding more languages and features in the near future.
Garg Ankit
Awesome idea. Do you plan on expanding it to other languages as well?
Stefan Petrovic
@graciousgarg I am planning to add more languages, however the initial stage of the extension is powered by other 30 seconds of projects (like 30 seconds of code, 30 seconds of css ...) If the extension gains some traction and users i plan on focusing my time to find collaborators that would like to write new snippets to get independent of the mention open-source projects.
Reunan Le Noc
It's a very nice Chrome Extension. It would be nice to be able to save snippets as favorite.
Stefan Petrovic
@reunan_lenoc Hi Reunan, thanks for the feedback. While I added the ability to copy/paste all snippets I guess having a favorite feature would be cool. Already planing to add light theme, fix ux on settings popup, more languages. I'm going to consider adding favorites too.

My current new tab plugin shows me an awesome new cat everytime, but if I ever feel like being more productive, this seems like an excellent replacement.
Stefan Petrovic
@dkb868 Here is the deal, you tell me the name of the extension with cats and I'll use it instead of you, and you use this one for a while 🐈 🐾 . P.S. wasn't joking, that cat extension sounds great!
Stefan Petrovic
@dkb868 Oh GOD!!! I think I'll personally use this one but don't tell anyone!
Arsalan Ahmad
Sad to see that there's no support for Firefox.
Stefan Petrovic
@arsalan_ahmad Maybe in the near future. Had to start somewhere! 😀

Cons:

The tagline 'Become a better developer, in every new tab.' fits the extension perfectly. As a junior developer, it helped me become a better JavaScript developer and I can't imagine it could have been without this. I have recently landed a better job with a better role and a very good salary and I nailed the JavaScript and React interview. It wouln't be possible without this.

Pros:

- The snippets turn out to be useful in some of the usecases. - Links at the bottom are really helpful.

Cons:

- None

@vladimir_sb Thank you very much! 😊 🙏
Milos Jovancevic
Great work, keep it up! Finally replaced Momentum after 5 years...lol
Stefan Petrovic
@milos_jovancevic Glad to hear you liked it that much! Cheers 😀

This is an amazing idea. One thing which I would like to add to this will be an option to save the snippets displayed so that I can go back and see them again whenever I need them.
Stefan Petrovic
@shubhjai172 Hi, I've got that request a few times now, it will be something thats added in the near future! Thanks for checking the extension out.
John Cox
Great idea! Should be very useful for anyone who wants to develop new skills!

I may have found a replacement for Snippets by The Hustle
Stefan Petrovic
@mileung Glad you feel that way!
Erik Tran

In the short amount of time, I've found it to be very useful. I consistently get news on articles related to my industry and now I can "hold" them in one place, categorize them, and share with colleagues. Extremely useful for my business and projects.

Pros:

Easy to use and a great placeholder for all my information and links.

Cons:

None so far

Hi! Do you plan to add С#?
