Web Analytics made simple and therefore privacy friendly. No Cookies. No logging. No IP address fingerprinting. We don't collect personal data, which allows serving many users with little hosting costs. The source code is published under the AGPL‑v3 licence.
I think we have a stronger product focus and are not building something only for other fellow techies. So it is free and privacy friendly - don't think there are too many with that combination. But beyond that we really believe to simply have a more polished and well rounded product, compare and decide for yourself :-)
How do you plan to earn in the long run?
I wouldn't trust any service that claims privacy and free. And from personal experience building a privacy oriented free platform, I can tell you donations aren't really a long term solution
Pay what you want is not something I invented. As an example there is this german hosting service that uses this model since many years: https://uberspace.de/. I'd be interested in the experience you did with a privacy oriented free platform! Furthermore actually we highly optimized counter to be sustainable serving many users for little cost. See the glorious technical details here: https://github.com/ihucos/counte...
Anecdotally we are currently serving about 150 (integrated) users and our database is only a little over 2 megs in size. So it's designed to be quite scalable and super cheap.
