Hi there! I'm excited to share Countdown with you. I've been working on this game for a while now, and it's finally ready for the world to play. The idea came to me a long long time ago and I've finally taken the time to actually create it. My idea was to create a game that you could play without tutorials or complicated mechanics. However, I did add a page with explanation. You can find it, if you click the question mark right after "How to play countdown". In Countdown, you click tiles to decrease numbers in cross patterns, trying to get everything to zero. It sounds simple, but it's actually not that easy. Would love to hear what you think! You can play it right in your browser at 8bitretro.games - no downloads, no ads, no payment walls. Just a free game. Looking forward to reading your responses.

🔥 I’m totally loving that minimalistic 8-bit vibe! It’s got this nostalgic feel but still feels fresh. I’m already hooked on trying to get everything down to zero — my brain is all about that challenge!

I played a few rounds, and wow, things ramp up fast! It’s super easy to pick up, but mastering it? That’s where the real fun is — the perfect balance for puzzle games!

This is giving me major “Game Boy in my browser” vibes. I really appreciate that there are no ads or signups — just pure gaming bliss.

At first, I thought, “I’ll clear this in 2 minutes”… but 15 minutes later, I’m still chasing that elusive perfect zero board. 😅

I love that you included a simple how-to page while keeping the gameplay intuitive. It strikes a great balance for both casual players and puzzle pros.

The cross-pattern mechanic is such a clever twist! It adds layers of strategy that you don’t really notice until you’ve played a few rounds.

This feels like a hidden arcade gem that somehow found its way onto the internet in 2025.

I’d really love to see a “daily puzzle” mode so I can enjoy playing it every morning with my coffee.

The retro color palette is 🔥. It’s nostalgic without feeling outdated at all.
