Meet new people, hangout virtually, and have fun, without ever having to leaving your house. Weekly online events and socials with people around the world.
I see that you guys got use out of our of our copy + css for our Product Hunt banner π. How can we convince you to host your product on ZmURL?
Looks like a fun event tho! I'm curious to what your tips are on throwing a great Zoom event. What have you found that has / hasn't worked? Do you use breakout rooms / games / etc etc.
I bet you could write a really interesting blog post about your learnings!
@viccypont we saw ZmURL yesterday and signed up right away! Our zoom administrator is Cornell University (we're college students, and they pay for our Zoom accounts) and they manage permissions for external plugins. We submitted a ticket, but got rejected :(
Hopefully if we grow enough to start paying for our own Zoom usage we can start using ZmURL. We would love to have a snazzy event page.
We've found it best to keep things pretty organic, letting everyone in the rooms do what they want. Some people play jackbox.tv, others just chat about their day, we provide suggestions and structure but it's really up to every individual. Perhaps we can collab on a blog post sometime
Hey PH!
Coronas and chill began as a project my friends and I started to maintain our social sanity during quarantine.
It's quickly evolved into a fun + convenient way to meet others virtually, and we've found video chat to be a great way to connect online. We plan to continue this even after the world is no longer under quarantine, and host events specifically connecting those with similar locations, interests, and ages.
If you're interested in checking us out, our next event is tonight at 9pm ET :)
Thanks for the support!
@basar_kaya Awesome! Hope to see you at one of our events then :).
So far it's been self-modded, and we haven't had any problems. As admins, we can kick people out (if it's necessary), and they wouldn't be able to rejoin, since everybody needs to be let in from the waiting room
This is awesome guys, I'm curating a bunch of cool events people can do during COVID virtually? Can I add this product to the curated app, teambright.co?
@harley_mcturk hmm - are you accessing it through https? Make sure you're doing https:// instead of http:// as sometimes the browser will block sites that aren't secure.
Hello @kcshei ! We also found it hard to socialise using all the tools out there. We really missed mingling and the spontaneity of real life meetings. That's why we build Knit, which is specifically designed for groups of 5-50. We'd love to host your event!
@konrad_urban Wow, looks very similar to what we might need - helping the group break apart and come together again. We'll definitely take a look and test it a bit to see what our users think. Zoom isn't the perfect solution, so always looking to make the experience smoother for attendees.
