Connector — Location, background, interest & AI based networking

If you are like me, I get tired of rejecting 99% of the connection requests I receive on other professional networking platforms, because I know they are just going to result in immediate sales pitches. I like to call these time wasters "pitch-slaps." Connector was created to solve this problem. It was initially conceived as a way to simply network during jury duty downtime, but has evolved to identify, establish and maintain business connections and career connections in any place where large groups gather, including airports, airport lounges, sporting arenas, convention centers with proactive notifications. A few of the broader goals with Connector: * Utilize advanced mobile and AI-technologies to enable the creation of genuine connections using location, backgrounds, interests & affiliations * Create a patented connection value rating system that increases networking efficiency * Reduce, if not eliminate, time wasting spam * Enable people to choose to communicate how they prefer and where they prefer * Easily find and connect with your existing contacts and affiliates when they are nearby * Proactively identify potential and existing connections through push notifications instead of having to actively seek them out A note about our use of location - Connector takes privacy very seriously. The app utilizes background location tracking to provide users with a seamless networking experience. This feature enables the app to detect when a user arrives at specific locations with high concentrations of potential professional contacts, even when the app is not running in the foreground. It uses this information to deliver timely notifications in places such as airports, convention centers, arenas and campuses, enhancing networking opportunities. We never share or reveal a user’s exact location in the app or with other users. This feature can also be easily disabled both temporarily or permanently at both the device level and in Connector’s preferences. Additionally: * Users can opt-in or opt-out for notifications of people with common interests * Users detailed profile information is not shared until connected with someone else (profile details that match with your profile are shown to encourage connections) * Users can control what personal information that is shared * Users can choose preferred communication methods for each connection I hope this community finds Connector useful. Hey @eppinger17, this looks very promising. I know the pain of receiving hundreds and hundreds of unrelated connection requests on LinkedIn. 2 questions: 1. I could really see Connector shining during conferences and other business/tech meet ups. Would be nice to add a list of events in the area as well. 2. Can you tell us more about the value rating system, how does it work and what are the key factors to it? Congrats on the launch 🚀
