FYI, it is really easy to find people on LinkedIn from the profiles on CFL. Perhaps tweaking should be made to really incentivize people into becoming premium members?
Hello product hunters! Alejandro Cremades here. I am one of the cofounders of the holding company, Onevest. Happy to answer any comments or questions. As a side note we announced yesterday the acquisition of FounderDating (read more about it here http://fortune.com/2016/07/28/fo... ). FounderDating and our very own CoFoundersLab will join forces to continue building one of the largest networks for entrepreneurs online. We are now 250,000+ entrepreneurs and counting :)
@bentossell we launched yesterday the new CoFoundersLab platform which we have been working on very hard for the past year. We have allocated a significant amount of resources to build the new CoFoundersLab from the ground up with our in house team of engineers. In addition to that, we launched the CoFoundersLab Learning Center to support entrepreneurs via education.
@bentossell we have a new personalized dashboard for registered users, improved matchmaking algorithms, new advanced search, a more intuitive messaging system, online courses with domain experts (e.g. marketing, fundraising, team building, etc), new structure and design of profiles where users can customize them as they wish, compatibility views with other candidates, we have improved how to join local in person events, and a lot of other good stuff :)
@acremades this is a great resource for our members at Projective.co for finding CoFounders, interns, advisors. I'll definitely share this with our community!
@acremades Just Incredible a little disappointed in this feeling as if it's a bit leaning more toward an engineering only run company and not a designed run startup environment in the way the user experience organises and presents applicants and so on. Not being bias being I'm a ui/ux architect but know how important design in every area is important and has touch-points that reach other sectors of a company, just didn't see that as prominently reflected in the design decisions on the application.
but I know this is an iterative process..I just became a premium member 5 minutes ago, best money spent in a long time!
@nicholassheriff thank you so much! Means a lot to have you as a premium member and really appreciate your comments. Without a doubt, there will be iterations implemented as we continue to listen carefully to our customers. Let me know how the experience unfolds and if I can help at any point :)
Hi guys, love the idea. BTW, when I was searching, I see that you should check your learning center part. There are some problems in the social media links of Tanya Prive.
wow! This looks awesome! Any update on when the iOS app will be updated to match the new UI/UX on the web app? The iphone app seems outdated and very buggy :)
@khaliphj many thanks and very valid comment. As one of our next priorities we will be building from the ground up a new mobile app for iOS and Android. Stay tuned!
Also, to show our token of appreciation to everyone on PH, please use the coupon code PRODUCTHUNT to receive a 25% off from any purchase on CoFoundersLab or from any purchase from the CoFoundersLab Learning Center.
What frustrates me most about this website is that its very USA centric. Hence why in most EU regions there is no regular events. They don't spend time on investing in those areas. They also consider London to be the only thing on this planet that is European and British, which really gets on my nerves.
@jamie_ross I hear you and got every word you stated. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your frustration. I was actually born and raised in Spain so expect to have more regular events in EU regions in the near future. This is my promise to you :) In any case, feel free to take advantage of the online experience as events are complementary to that.
@acremades I live in the NE of England with one of the cheapest startup areas in the EU, supported by EU-backed grants etc yet you don't have this information for co-founders. Also, I saw a website on PH that could tell you how much the running costs would be in different cities around the world. The Problem for me is that in Newcastle,UK it's all founders on your site. It would be great if you could tap into those professionals who want to learn more to up their game or and then offer co-foundership. Or alternatively the UK market is saturated with unemployed grads with no experience, it would be great if you could have mentors for them. Once halfway through mentoring they could help a founder out. The only exception this applies to is programming, where an aptitude takes at least 12 months to attain commercially. The website in its current form is only half finished. There is a lot of un-added value that would make your website worth paying for. F6S is a great resource for all startup info etc, start there. Also if you may have noticed Amazon have a kindle reader program, in which if someone rented a book that Author got paid out of Amazons $10 million annual funds. Now apply the same principle to co-founders like Authors and voila you have an idea unlike any other. Just use collective buying power to get people to come on board and work for companies but funded via your websites membership. It's so much more rewarding.
@jamie_ross this is really interesting. Thanks for taking the time to share this. We actually have a program with mentors/advisors on the site. We have currently over 4,000 advisors on the platform from all over the world registered. But I agree that there is a lot we need to do to continue bringing education to founders. I find very interesting your suggestion regarding Amazon. I will look into it with my team.
@arunagrahri I am not sure of the issue that you are experiencing but happy to help. You can reach out to me directly at alejandro[at]onevest[dot]com and we will get it resolved :)
Looks good. Only thing I would recommend is try making the design more consistent across the pages. Some things look out of place. I actually designed something similar to the same concept as CoFoundersLab, http://masondahl.com/work/founde...
