code2.ai - Turn codebases into LLM knowledge

Code2.AI transforms codebases into AI-ready knowledge. Our GitHub extension and CLI compress files by 75% while preserving architecture. Developers save time explaining code, while non-technical teammates gain the ability to chat with AI about your product.

Congrats on the launch, @jvanetten !
I have been working with Roo Code and their Ask mode is quite similar to what you are providing if I am not mistaken. Can you share how Code2AI differentiates itself?

@thefullstack  Great question! While ive not used Roo Code, but it seems like it is an excellent coding assistant that lives in your editor, Code2.ai takes a different approach by focusing specifically on making codebases accessible to non-technical team members.

The key differences:

  1. Code2.ai is built for cross-team collaboration - it helps marketing, product, and customer support teams understand the codebase without coding skills or needing developer time

  2. We compress the entire codebase architecture (up to 75% reduction) while preserving the relationships between components

  3. Rather than living in the editor, our compressed files can be uploaded to any AI (Claude, ChatGPT) where your non-technical teammates already work

  4. We're solving the specific "dev-to-non-dev translation" problem versus the broader coding assistance that Roo Code excels at

Both tools are valuable, but for different use cases and audiences!

Hey Product Hunt! 👋

I built Code2AI after watching the same pattern repeat in every dev team I've worked with:

Senior devs jump between Zoom calls all day answering the same questions about the codebase and architecture → barely touches actual code → knowledge remains siloed → repeat tomorrow.

The problem isn't documentation (which gets outdated instantly). It's that technical knowledge stays trapped with a few key people.

Code2AI compresses your codebase into a format that AI can properly understand - preserving all the relationships and architecture without the noise. Upload to Claude or GPT, and suddenly anyone can ask complex questions about your specific product without bothering the dev team.

What makes it different from just uploading raw files?

  • Removes unnecessary files that confuse AI (dependencies, build artifacts)

  • Preserves critical relationships between components

  • Formats everything to fit within context limits

  • Works with any AI tool you already use

It's built for real-world use cases:

  • Senior devs who need focused coding time

  • New hires trying to understand legacy systems

  • PMs making decisions based on technical constraints

I'm a solo founder who built this because I needed it. Would love your feedback - especially from those of you dealing with knowledge silos in your teams!
