@alcaan Making the world more equitable, along with access to a larger talent pool for businesses. What's not to like! Good luck.

Interesting! Hoping to see a lot of diversity in your global talent pool. I've had quite some experiences with platforms focusing on a particular region. A curious question, how do you convince clients for a resource outside their region other than cost reasons?
Izzy Fahey
@saminsolitude Absolutely - our talent pool is very diverse! Cost is important, but the huge benefit of global hiring is expediency. No more drawn-out negotiations or interview processes, and our devs are ready to join your team in just 24 hours!
Alfie Lloyd
@saminsolitude Hi Sam, great question ! I'd like to further add to Izzy's response, given the nature of local hiring (most notably in the US) there is a lot more competition from the employers which drives down the retention rate of employees to an average of 12 months. Since our talents are global, aside from the costs, they're typically a lot more loyal and committed to the cause with less incentive to jump ship, our average retention rate is over 2 years. Thanks for your comment :)

Launching soon!
@alcaan big congrats on the launch - really neat and sorry for all the questions in advance (I wouldn't have any if I thought it was a bad idea haha!) - For someone coming from the recruitment space - I am always weary of agencies and their strategies for hiring / pay scale / employee rake etc. So I am curious of a few things: - Where does the talent primarily come from? (ie what time zone / country etc) (Seems like Latam but is this now more global?) - Language proficiency and who is vetting that? (Ie what does that process look like?) - What does your rake look like (subscription / ongoing? ex 10% of their salary for X years? / cost of first years wage to fill a role?) This one is really important to me as I would love to have transparency with our staff and not be handcuffed for the introduction if that makes sense - Pay scale for stack / BE and FE devs (even the US and CAD market has dropped off a cliff) is that also represented with the global pay scale? - How do you vet your talent? (technical interviews? personality tests?)
Izzy Fahey
@alcaan @dzaitzow Hi Daniel, great questions! I completely see where you're coming from. - CloudDevs 2.0 is the global expansion of our LatAm hiring pool. So when you use our service, you can choose from either the LatAm or global pool - English proficiency and communication skills are evaluated during the interview process, by one of our hiring engineers - For CloudDevs 2.0, the rate is $40-$70/hr depending on experience and skill-set. CloudDevs retains 20% of that, and there are no further fees or expenses for using the platform. - Contracts are flexible. We offer a few different options for shorter or longer projects, and you can also build a custom plan. And if you want to bring the hire on board permanently, you have the option to buy them off our platform. - First, we interview for tech stack evaluation and language proficiency. Then there's a coding challenge, and a problem-solving challenge, and finally a background check for peace of mind. Let me know if you have any more questions! :)

Launching soon!
@alcaan @isabelle_fahey really interesting - the 20% rake makes sense and the pay scale still makes staff compensated fairly for their work - I am curious - what does the buyout option look like economically?
Anastasia Buga
Congrats on the launch! Seems like an interesting product. How exactly is it different from other HR outsourcing services? the "Hire in 24 hours" part sounds very impressive. It's quite rare in our industry, does this happen often, from your experience?
Izzy Fahey
@anastasia_buga Hi Anastasia, thank you for your comment! We guarantee that clients will receive a shortlist of amazing talent matching their specifications within 24 hours, and they're always ready to start immediately. Of course, some clients choose to hold additional interviews or tests before choosing a candidate, but the benefit of working with us is that all our devs have gone through a vigorous application process, so you know exactly what they're capable of. Our pricing is also more accessible to founders/startups than many other outsourcing services on the market, while still guaranteeing impressive seniority and experience. Thanks for your thoughtful question! ❤️
Alfie Lloyd
@anastasia_buga Hi Anastasia, thanks for the comment! I can attest to Izzy's response, I speak to a lot of our clients that come to us expecting they'll have to do extra testing/interviewing but shortly after reviewing their hand-picked talents (within 24hrs) and learning more about our meticulous vetting process they end up hiring quickly without any extra hassle. Since all our talents are thoroughly pre-vetted, we can move as quickly as necessary. Thanks again for your question :)
Alex Dulub
Hi Al, Congratulations on expanding CloudDevs to the global stage! It's impressive that you've transitioned from finance to creating such a valuable platform for tech hiring. The 24-hour match-up with seasoned professionals is a game-changer. Curious, what inspired the focus on LatAm talent initially, and what has been the most rewarding part of this journey for you? Cheers to bringing visions to life with CloudDevs 2.0!
Izzy Fahey
@alex_dulub Thanks for all your kind words Alex! I obviously can't speak to Al's journey, but our initial focus on LatAm came from the ability to timezone-match our devs with our majority-US client base. It's still a great choice for people who need to work really closely with their developer throughout a project
Congrats on the launch Al. After LATAM, which region is the next biggest talent pool on CloudDevs?
Al Khan
@jgani Hey it's equally split between MENA and ASIA regions
Hossein Yazdi
Impressive product! Though I come across many tools daily, I haven't seen any platform specifically for hiring devs. Big congrats to your team for creating this awesome product! I will add it to my best tools directory!
Izzy Fahey
@hosseinyazdi Thank you so much Hossein! We really appreciate your support
Ruben Boonzaaijer
Currently building my first saas, definitely will come bac to this when I need devs more more advanced features
Izzy Fahey
@ruben_boonz Thank you Ruben! Wishing you success with your saas 🎉
Cameron Scully
Lots of great talent there for devs. I have a similar project I'm building, but it's for hiring marketing roles from my country, South Africa.
Izzy Fahey
@cameronscully_ That sounds great Cameron! Looking forward to supporting your launch
Jon Wesselink
At first I thought: oh another VA thing.. But then I see you tackle the higher quality and more skilled portion of the market. Very clever. I also like how you make it clear that you know all the obstacles your customers will think of ahead of time and put it upfront with your first comment here. Bravo!
Izzy Fahey
@jonwesselink Thanks so much Jon! I'm glad you like it!
Annie Chopra
I think this is such an important aspect of hiring. Especially, right now, both for the companies and for talent. There needs to be more products that are centred around actually wanting to hire people. I want to know, how are you ensuring that companies don't do the ghost posting, basically when they don't actually want to hire someone? Because this happens in a lot of platforms.
Alfie Lloyd
@annie_chopra Hi Annie, great question! Ghost-posting can definitely interfere with the hiring process for everyone involved, to avoid this, our personal recruiting process functions differently to a typical job-board system. Once we meet with our prospective clients, we have a strong gauge of whether the hire is genuine or not. From there, we build an understanding of what they're looking for, we cross-reference that to our talent pool of 10,000+ developers and only engage with the most suitable talents for that role (usually 3-5 ideal candidates). Since this process doesn't explicitly promote the job listing nor the client/company that is recruiting, there's less incentive for them to ghost-post their positions. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment :)
Philip Terry
A curious question, how do you convince clients for a resource outside their region other than cost reasons?
Alfie Lloyd
@philip_terry Hi Philip, thanks for the great question! Of course, the cost is a big factor since most teams these days work with some element of remote or asynchronous work, so saving on costs without sacrificing experience, skills or workflow is perfect. Additionally, given the nature of local hiring (most notably in the US) there is a lot more competition from the employers which drives down the retention rate of employees to an average of 12 months. Since our talents are based globally, they're typically a lot more loyal and committed to the cause with less incentive to jump ship, our average retention rate is over 2 years. I hope this helps, thanks again :)
Marc Andre
This looks like a great resource. I typically hire developers on Upwork but finding the right person takes some time. Having a pre-vetted selection should be really helpful.
Izzy Fahey
@marc_andre1 Thanks Marc, absolutely! Platforms like Upwork can be great price-wise but it's difficult and time-consuming to find the right person. A pre-vetted talent pool guarantees quality and saves loads of time!
Trent Kennelly
Got to love this kind of service! Huge fan of taking people that know something and using that expertise, rather than just hoping the new hire knows what they need to. Great work, team!
Izzy Fahey
@trent_kennelly Thanks so much Trent!
Keyvan Paykhan
Happy to be part of the CloudDevs talent team and really excited for the new launch 🎉
Izzy Fahey
@keyvan_p Thank you Keyvan, we're so happy to be working with you!
Elisa Tamburini
Congratulations on this launch!
Izzy Fahey
@elisa_tamburini Thanks so much Elisa!
Chris Stolt
Quick and easy access to talent from around the world is an amazing idea and super useful resource! Congrats on the launch! 🚀
Izzy Fahey
@stolt45 Thank you Chris! ❤️
Izzy Fahey
🤔 Why now? With the economy the way it is, we know it's getting harder and harder to get off the ground and build the best teams. So we decided to launch CloudDevs 2.0 - the same high standards brought to a new, global pool at a reduced rate. Nothing, especially the economy, should stand in the way of a founder with a vision.
Harsh Jha
Pretty interesting idea @alcaan !
