Hey, guys! We've just launched an indoor Wall Farm that will make growing fresh food indoor affordable and easy and we're super excited to be sharing it with you. The product line features 2 farms with different sizes, one of the Farms is a connected product. What do you guys think? We're definitely looking for feedback! A little bit about our technology: Instead of using complex growing systems, pumps and rock wool as the growing material, we're using our own technology (smart soil) that allows controlling the most important parameters affecting plant growth. Our technology helps to save water while increasing efficiency and reducing the environmental impacts of most plant production practices used today. We really wanted to make the Wall Farm line affordable to stand out from our competing products by not only our design and quality, but also the price. We're constantly working on giving everyone the means to grow their own food and we feel that this is a step in the right direction. The best part about the Wall Farms is that you actually do get to grow enough fresh food to really feel the value in the product. Enough salads, vegetables, fruits and herbs to substantiate the need for fresh clean food for a whole family.

@liina_ilves @bentossell how is this allowed? Not considered vote brigading?
Liina Ilves
@nscrossman Thank you, Nik!

Love the product - how does it/one tackle indoor pests, many vertical farming work around a controlled environment - how can one make the home a place to grow without inviting pests?
Liina Ilves
@raj_ventures Hi, Honey! Thanks! We've not had many problems with indoor pests with the Wall Farm so far, but we are actually currently in the process of developing a bio pesticide to offer help to those who might have this issue.

Awesome. Love our Click & Grow, which travels with us full-time in our RV (currently growing basil, parsley and thyme). Trying to figure out which piece of furniture we'll get rid of to make room for The Wall Farm. :)
Liina Ilves
@taylor_banks Hi, Taylor! That sounds amazing. Any chance you could drop us some pictures of your Smart Herb Gardens in your RV? If you find the time, please send them over to liina.ilves@clickandgrow.com

Hmm. $59.95 per 20 refills per month. The smaller one fits 40 and the bigger one 60. $60 of fresh produce a month... without the variation and such of a CSA. I mean, it's pretty, but, as is my critique of the other Click and Grow product (of which, admittedly, I have two), there's a pricing premium that feels painful.
Liina Ilves
@shloky Hi! We definitely offer variation to the Wall Farm owners: They can specifically choose which plants will make up those 20 refills and we have new plants coming out on a monthly basis. That also makes one of the plant pods cost around 2,95$ which we feel is not very overpriced for clean, local & fresh food. Plus, if you cut them right, many of the plants will give you a second harvest from the same pod. What do you feel a fair price point would be?

Nice, I backed the original Kickstarter for the little herb garden. This looks epic...I better not show it to my wife :)
Liina Ilves
@sams_antics Hi, Sam! Our Kickstarter backers are the ones that made all of this possible for us. Thank you so much!
Rob Morgan
I love how this could easily blend with the rest of a kitchen, yet provide ingredients in the freshest possible way.

I'm confused about the pods. Are they required to grow anything? They contain the seeds, growing medium, and fertilizer all combined? I don't see this explained on the site very well. So can someone just plant seeds they have in the growing medium without using the pods? Just trying to understand. I would definitely add a question like this to a FAQ section on the site.
Liina Ilves
@spiffyman Hi, David! Yes, the plant "pods" contain the seeds, nutrients and the growing medium. You have to insert the soil in the pods that are integrated in the garden. We'll definitely add additional information to a FAQ section, thanks for the tip!

Just love this wall farm product. Which countries is this available in right now ? and what is the typical area it occupies inside a home? Thanks. Keep up the Good work.
Liina Ilves
@abhi_shah1 Hi, Abhishek! This is available in the US, Canada, EU and Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan at the moment. If the country of your interest is not on the list, drop a message to press@clickandgrow.com and let's see what we can do. Thanks for the support!
Denny Chandler
Excited about this for sure! I love my Click & Grow mini! Can't wait to grab one of these... Do they take the same kind of "Pods" as the minis?
Liina Ilves
@dchandler Hi, Denny! Yes, all our refills are 100% compatible. You can use them both in our Smart Gardens and farms. We are in the process of decreasing the use of plastic in our products even more, but the plant pods will stay compatible with all our products.
Renato Bello
Very nice product! what type of material it is made? Wood, Aluminum? It seems very light? Do you send it for all the world? Thanks.
Liina Ilves
@ludics Hi, Renato! The frame is made of wood. Feel free to check out all the product specs here: http://bit.ly/2eFTPgZ I'm happy to help in case you have any further questions!
Liina Ilves
Hi! We've just launched at new product on Kickstarter! Let me know what you think: https://goo.gl/ltXXL8
Manan Gandhi
Love the simplicity of the product! What does it mean by semi-manual watering in the mini system, that I'm contemplating buying, and how does it compare to the larger unit that has automated watering?
Liina Ilves
@mr3gandhi Hi, Manan! Thanks for the question. The "semi-manual" should actually have been semi-automatic. Thanks for noticing, it's fixed now. What it means is that the farm has two separate thanks on two shelves which need to be filled manually once every 2 months as the farm doesn't connect to the central water system. The farm doses the water according to a plants needs and makes sure the plants always have enough water to grow. That's why it's semi-automatic.
Philip Barclay
Amazing product! Hope you guys grow fast! There is a small typo in your The Wall Farm MINI description: Monthly subscription 59.95$/20 refill(s)
Liina Ilves
@philip_barclay1 Hi, Philip! Thanks for letting us know, I fixed it!
Tyler Swartz
Looks very interesting! Are there any videos that go into how the growing system works?
Liina Ilves
@tylerswartz Hi, Tyler! Are you looking for a video explaining our technology in detail? You can read about our material and the supporting features (lights, watering mechanism etc) here: http://www.clickandgrow.com/page... and here's also a pretty good comparison between using hydroponics vs the smart soil: http://www.clickandgrow.com/blog... Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Jen McGuinness
Great to see so many options for people to grow food inside. We have also just launched: https://www.producthunt.com/tech...
Liina Ilves
@jenlmcguinness Looks interesting? Is the veggiewall a hydroponic system?
Jen McGuinness
@liina_ilves Hi Lina, yes it is. How about the Wall Farm? We are just getting started.

The future of indoor farming. Design is great. Did this crowdfund as well earlier?
Liina Ilves
@sebastian_klass Hi, Sebastian! Thanks for the questions! No, we didn't do crowdfunding for this product, we're selling them already directly to end-customers!
