Distraction-free note taking without leaving your keyboard. No more juggling between media controls, mouse and what not. A frictionless experience for note taking on Youtube.
Wow! This is so amazing! If YouTube is the new classroom, Clarity should be the new notebook.
Can the video outline through time stamps be added as headings automatically?
For example, somethings like this:
Hello Product Hunt! 👋
Our team is very excited to be featured on PH! We just love this community and the products launched here on this platform :)
There is so much valuable information out there on Youtube but we often find it difficult to switch across tabs to take notes.
We wanted to reimagine the way we take notes on Youtube, making it as frictionless as possible.
Presenting to you, Clarity, a chrome extension that allows you to take lightning fast Youtube notes. Take distraction-free notes without leaving your keyboard. No more juggling between media controls, mouse and what not. As seamless as you can imagine.
Why Clarity?
1. Take notes at the speed of your thoughts.
Inbuilt shortcut commands that allow you to take markdown notes without leaving your keyboard.
2. Never lose your notes again.
Your notes are automatically saved and synced online. Retrieve it whenever you want.
3. Youtube notes stored in the context.
Your notes make more sense when you can understand the context in which it is situated. Take Youtube notes from where you left earlier.
We hope that Clarity becomes your second brain someday. Thanks again for your support and our team is ready for any feedback and comment!
PS: Readwise and Notion integrations coming soon :)
@5harath Thanks a lot for the shout out Sharath. Made our day. Really happy that u liked the product.
The CBC usecase is something which we haven't thought of. Thank you for sharing it.
@iamarnob6543 Thank you Arnob. Actually we did want to have something similar but majority of the users wanted to take their own notes hence we decided to implement that later. But its definitely in our radar though :)
This product is crazy good. 🔥
As a self-taught developer, I do learn actively via tutorials, interviews, and conference videos on Youtube and this makes it super easy to grab insights as I am listening and revisit them later on. I have been using this for the past couple of weeks and can't recommend this enough to any person who is an active learner on the internet
The product delivers great value despite being in its early stage and the team is full of awesome people. 👏👏👏👏
@utkarsh_bhimte Thanks a lot Utkarsh for being such an important person in building this product. And happy totally happy that its helps you in your active learning :)
Any and everyone who wants to get more value out of watching content on YouTube should give this product a spin
This is such an INCREDIBLE example of building something simple but immensely effective.
The pace of shipping and the thoughtfulness behind the product is something to be admired and I am proud & pumped that @abu_abdullah & @shreyas_prakash1 has put this out for the world 🔥🙌🏼
Congratulations both and all the best. This is a product for the ages 💃
Been using this for about a week now and I cannot say enough about how useful this is! Can't wait to see more people try it out! Congratulations on the launch, @shreyas_prakash1 and @abu_abdullah! 🚀
this sounds incredible and i'm guessing you have an obsidian plug-in lined up as well. thought if it integrates with readwise, you needn't bother.
curious if there's any way to integrate this into the mobile youtube experience?
@reddy2go Hey the readwise integration is something which we are working on currently and would be available sooner. This will make your life super easier. W.r.t mobile experience we are figuring out some of the feasible solutions. Do share your suggestions & feedbacks with us.
Have been using Clarity for a few weeks now and it definitely helped me retain most of my learnings on Youtube! It's a killer tool with a very clean interface and amazing usability. Great work @abu_abdullah@shreyas_prakash1 🔥
@shreyas_prakash1@saibhaskardevatha Thanks a lot Sai for being an inspiration in bringing this live. World should have more people like you who helps other builders launch. Kudos to you. :)
@shreyas_prakash1@sagar_devkate Thank u Sagar. Yeah definitely this will introduce clarity in your note taking process. Do let us know your feedbacks. :)
@kagan_korkmaz1 Thank you Kağan. The notes can be accessed in the clarity website. You will get to know about this once u install the extension. Don't want to spoil the onboarding user experience :P Do let us know ur feedbacks after u use it.
@ayushtweetshere We wanted to help people to take seamless notes while watching YT content. Happy to know that Clarity already helps you there. Thank you.
I normally pause videos to take notes which is such a painful process. Love this product, so helpful :) Kudos to the makers @shreyas_prakash1 and @abu_abdullah :)
@abu_abdullah@niti_shree Thank you Niti. Yes, pausing and playing does have a lot of friction and context-switching interrupts the flow of deep work. In order to avoid that, we have keyboard shortcuts CTRL+P for pause/play functionality.
Glad to know that you liked it!
@shreyasprakash@chetan_jogi1 Haha. True Chethan. This product will definitely bring clarity in your learning experience :) Do let us know ur feedbacks.
@abhash_kumar2 Hey Abhash, right now the notes are stored in clarity dashboard but we have plans to integrate with other knowledge bases like readwise, notion, roam, soon. :)
hi, Thank you for your creative app. I just installed chrome extension of Clarity on my mobile phone and now I see 'TAKE NOTES' botton on it but it doesn't respond at all when clicking it. Any idea? I executed it on 'kiwi browser'.
@new_user_4d93c34de7 Hey Cheol, thank u for installing the product. The extension would work perfectly in a computer than in a mobile version. What i understand from google is that, though kiwi browser supports installation of chrome extension not everything will work as expected. TBH, we didn't know tat chrome extension can be installed in a mobile :). Can you please try it in a latop for instance? Do let me know if you need any help.
@abu_abdullah Abu, Thank you for your answer! Yes, we can install chrome extension using kiwi browser. I think it would be perfect if we can use Clarity on a mobile phone since people use apps on mobile more nowadays, and no doubt that it'd work on a laptop.
The much needed structure to the YT learning experience, which promises the world (quite literally) but doesn't solve the value 'capturing' problem as well. This feels like the missing piece.
