Hi folks!! 👋 Co-founders of Chill here, we are so happy to launch the first version of Chill on PH today, hoping to grab some of your quality feedback on what we’re doing. After a great matching at school 42 in Paris with my friend Nicolas, we've been building apps for last years and we're really passionate about consumer apps with a huge care on user experience. This summer, I explored new horizons in social apps. I was looking for a new way to keep it touch with your nearest and dearest. A narrative and primitive that would be so evident that it would seem too obvious… I started by identifying the ways we currently communicate on social apps. We chat a lot and send a lot of text (twitter, facebook, whatsapp..), photos (insta, snapchat, bereal), a little bit of audio (clubhouse, houseparty, storm), a big trend on instant videos (tiktok, insta, snap) and also other formats like zenly and its interactive map. But.. we've completely forgotten about a format that we constantly use, that takes up a majority of our interactions and activity in real life, and which represents one of humanity's biggest industries : 💫 Music 💫 “Social interactions about what we listen to and how it makes us feel 💞” I had an idea in my head all summer long, to find what was missing from social in music. So I searched through all the possible APIs to use. Why hasn't anyone really solved this problem before? The musical side used today (Story, TikTok, Shazam etc..), how much Spotify develops its social side, and above all, I talked to more than fifty people during my vacations, at the beach and parties, to find out how they share their music today among friends. Today, despite all the communication tools, people have difficulty sharing what they listen to. Just look at how much the collaborative playlists of Spotify, Apple Music or Deezer change every week. According to the feedbacks received, most people share their music on Story or copy / paste the link of their music via message... The music received is often postponed or not even played because the users are not on the same streaming platform. Are we in 2010 ? What is crucially lacking today in sharing music is simplicity. What we do at Chill is simple : sharing music with friends in the most authentic and frictionless way.
