What yours differences with netvibes ? I am netvibes's user since the beginning and (if this is not possible in your current version) netvibes's import configuration seems to be a great feature ! Good luck for the continuation!
@fabs_31 Thank you for your feedback.
start.me has been made for personal use, whereas Netvibes is more geared towards enterprises/agencies usage. start.me offers a simpler and more intuitive interface, with a focus on personal utilities like bookmarks and feeds.
Regarding importing: We provide various options for importing bookmarks and RSS feeds (incl. OMPL import). If you install our browser extension, you can import your browser bookmarks as well with one single click.
I've been using start.me since the beginning and that should say something ( tend to try a lot of products and Start.me has never been surpassed by anything I've seen). While they've made a lot of improvements over the last year, I still find being able to have my necessary links in easy organization the best part of the service.
For anyone thinking about trying it, I use it for:
Easy access links - Easier than any bookmarks and I have more than 100 on my main tab
RSS - I have a couple of feeds that update on the start page
Calendar - I get a quick view of the upcoming events
Todos - I see my latest todos from Todoist
We've build start.me to help you save time online. With start.me you have instant access to your most important websites and information sources, every time you open your browser.
start.me offers an integrated bookmarks manager, support for news feeds and a library with thousands of widgets that help you connect to popular internet services.
You can use start.me across all your browsers and devices - without the need to sync your data/bookmarks.
We're very keen to get your feedback and suggestions for improvements!
@arjenrobijn Just registered. Seems very good at first glance. Didn't see Slack there. It would be great to see most recent comments across multiple Slack teams simultaneously.
As a start.me developer I might be a little biased, but to me it really is a great dashboard:
All links, charts, dials and feeds right where I need them.
@arjenrobijn hey, how do I get this off my computer? I have followed your instructions, deleted the account but your system has highjacked every browser window I open. Not cool and why is it now a one click remove?
@scottwall0 Hi Scott,
Thank you for your feedback.
Just to clarify: start.me is free to use by individuals.
The $25 USD is for up to 10 individual employee accounts and provides an ad-free experience, collaboration- and additional branding features.
We estimate that using start.me will save an individual employee at least 3 hours per week.
3 (hours per week) x 4 (weeks) x 10 (employees) = 120 hours saved per month.
If your employees' time is worth more than $0.20 per hour, start.me is a cheap solution :)
A few reasons why employees save time using start.me:
- They will have their most important websites and cloud services in front of them, every time they go online (provides for a more focused internet journey).
- They can Keep Found Websites Found (saves them from having to re-search links).
- They have all their public (business/sector/competitor news) and personal (e-mail, calendar, to-do's) information sources displayed in one place (saves them loads of trips to different apps/websites).
- They don't have to share links with colleagues through e-mail (saves them from writing e-mails and their colleagues from reading them).
- They can access all of this from any location or device (which is great if they travel or work from home).
Happy to set you up with a free trial for as long as you want, so you can see the value of our product first before committing to anything. Send me an e-mail if you are interested: arjen.robijn@start.me.
