π Hey PH Family!!
I'm Roop, one of the makers of Paperguide
We're excited to introduce Paperguide, an AI-powered research platform to help users discover, read, manage, and write with ease. Whether you're a student, researcher, or academic professional, Paperguide boosts your productivity and accelerates your research.
Paperguide helps:
- Discover relevant papers π
- Read research papers faster using chat and summaries ππ¨
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews π
- Manage and organize references π
- Annotate and take research notes βοΈ
- Enhance academic writing β¨
At Paperguide, our mission is to accelerate research so that solutions to the world's intricate problems, including climate change and diseases, can be found faster.
Paperguide (originally known as ChatWithPDF) was launched as a simple tool to comprehend large PDFs. Since its launch last year, more than 500,000 users have used our tool.
Through user feedback, we discovered that students and researchers form the majority of our user base.
Rather than remaining a generic tool, we recognized an opportunity to make a more significant impact by tailoring our focus to the needs of researchers and students.
If you are a researcher or involved in research-related work, please give https://paperguide.ai a try. π
We'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. How can Paperguide assist with your research process? π‘
Thank you for all your support! π
Roop and The Paperguide Team
@shashank_sanjay Yes, its not only good for the research community but for the entire world. Also, there are clear use cases for AI where the impact is large.
Man I've been searching for at tool that allows me to tap into research papers out there. Love how slick the interface and how you can test out the tool - without signing up for an account! Awesome, it's pretty cool all the paper referenced are pretty recent.
It would be awesome if the LLM can take the question and give you suggestions on similar questions like Perplexity.
Congrats on the launch @roopreddy and team!
@tonyhanded Thanks Tony for your support. Really appreciate it. Good idea to show the similar questions. It also drives engagement. This is something we will look forward to incorporate in future releases.
This looks really fantastic, congrats on the launch! Hard question incoming: how do you ensure that there are no "hallucinations" from the bot when asking things? This seems super important for things like research!
@adamschroder Great Question! We try to minimise the hallucinations as less as possible in couple of ways.
1) Citations: We try to be very very specific about the facts mentioned by AI, to the page numbers and document names.
2) Prompt: We have refined our prompt multiple times to keep the hallucinations to minimum.
To be honest, its still a work in progress and also the limitations of current LLMs. We are committed to improve accuracy by collecting feedback from users as much as possible.
I find the UI very clean and love the concept! would have loved to have access to it when studying and working in my first marketing/consulting jobs tbh π
Paperguide sounds like a game-changer for anyone who works with research papers. I'm super excited to see how Paperguide evolves in the future, and especially curious about it. Congrats to the creator for this is a fantastic product
@trent_kennelly Thank you Trent for your appreciation. Please explore our platform and share your feedbacks and suggestions for further improvement. Paperguide's aim is to reduce the time it takes for researchers to do literature review, citation and reference management and other tasks so that they can spend time on their core work of research, experimentation and analysis and get the research outcomes out faster :-)
Congratulations on the launch, very cool idea, good job by you and your team.
I guess the best feature is helping in academic writing, I know so many people struggling and in need of assistance writing their thesis.
good luck today.
@raunaqss1 Appreciate your kind words Raunaq! π Weβve put a lot of heart into making Paperguide something special. If youβve got any feedback or ideas, weβre all ears!
Congrats on the launch, @roopreddy and the team! The way Paperguide manages and organizes references is really impressive β need this in a major way!

Hey Paperguide folks, important problem you are trying to solve. Tried out uploading a random document and saw the value that Paperguide provides.
However, one important thought that came to me while I was trying to upload a random document was what will paperguide do with the document that i am uploading. Will it store my data? This made me think twice before uploading some sensitive data.
@marun6993 Great Question! If you are a loggedin user, you have an option to delete the files that are stored. Once deleted, it will be deleted permanently. If you are a non-logged in user, chats and uploaded will be automatically deleted after few days. Also, all the data is stored in our servers and we have strict data processing agreements with 3rd party providers.
Hi, I like your overall product. a few minor feedbacks
1. the home page feels cluttered. There's so much going on I don't know where to focus.
2. I love the input in the hero section, easy to interact with your site that way
3. I researched something and the result was good, but the display was not so good.
4. it needs to be spaced out better, it doesn't flow well.
you also have this. References:
Abstract 1
Abstract 2
Abstract 3
followed by another References section.
Great product, don't let minor issues like these push people away
@userinsite Really appreciate your feedback.
1)I agree with you!! We will try to simplfy a bit in the next version.
2) Thanks a lot
3) Can you pls eloborate a bit on this? Is the chat UI needs to be improved?
4) Do you mean in the references section?
@roopreddy Yes the chat UI needs to be improved. the text needs spacing. for me, I had a response with five paragraphs with no space in between and the links were blue, it was hard to read it.
The reference section was just weird to see reference twice. One reference section looked great and the other looks like the text I provided
The interface allowing direct access to dashboard is quite smooth. Keep up the great experience on the platform. Solution in the literature and research space is the need of the hour to help us find the right solutions with accuracy.
Love your vision on Accelerating the change! ππ½
@nida_shariff Thanks for the appreciation, Nida. We're committed to making a smooth user experience throughout the entire research process, and feedback like yours really motivates us to keep improving.
when I entering the prompt customer support button is over the sending button .
It is a very good product and generating response very well ππ»ππ»ππ»
@sudhakar_katam I really appreciate your feedback Sudhakar. There are few limitations in integrating the support button, but you can move the support button. We make sure to solve the problem. Keep using Paperguide π€
@imran_hashmi3 Thanks for your Appreciation, Imran :-) Please do try out and share feedback. Do spread the word in the researcher and student community :-)
Congratulations on the Launch. Paperguide can help save a lot of time for researchers. But I have a question on privacy. How do you handle privacy and data security? @roopreddy
@kiranmaruthi Great Question Kiran. We take data privacy very seriously. Infact all our data is hosted on Azure..Even though we use GPT4 models, we dont send data to Open as data resides with in Azure!!
Congratulations on the launch guys.. Looks like a very innovative idea which eases the pain point of research community. Way to go guys.. @roopreddy, @malli and team
Congrats on the launch @Paperguide teamπ! It looks like a very helpful tool, I wish I had this back when I was doing my master's and working on research papers. Couldβve saved me from a lot of sleepless nights π
@anishar_rathinam Thanks a lot Anisha for your kind words! Once a researcher always a researcher! Never late to try out!! Pls reach out if you have any feedback
