Charlie is an online HR software for SME's. We believe that building a business is hard, so running one shouldn't be. When you’re working hard to bring your ideas to life, your first priority should be your team, not your admin. We created CharlieHR to solve the challenges that we faced while starting our own businesses.

We’ve been using CharlieHR to create a place for the freelancers we’re working with and recently used it to onboard our first employee! Pretty cool tool that offers a lot of features for free. @rjodonovan can tell you more!
I don't agree with the tagline. Too many products being posted with unquantifiable claims. I don't know why this can be judged to be "The best free HR platform", I've used other free HR platforms before in the past which I really liked.

@rjodonovan we use Charlie HR for @DiscountIF. It's really easy to use!!
Looking forward to see more flexiblity in the tool to use in countries outside of the UK (with different payroll systems etc).
Do you have any plans for that?

@paisano Zenefits and Gusto are only available in the US right now. There's a lot of crossover, yes, but I think we'll increasingly find that becomes less the case over the coming months 😊

I just took a quick look, it's everything I'm looking for! Congratulations.
One feature is missing for us to embrace it and quit using spreadsheets for this kind of shit: Being able to track the time (low granularity) spent on projects or macro-level tasks by each employees. Basically I need to be able to answer this kind of questions: "How many days have we spent on project X" ? "How many days Miss Y spent on R&D tasks" ?
Is that something identified in your roadmap?

I have been using CharlieHR at Snap Out for a few months now. It works very well.
Really like the simplicity of holiday requests and calendar integration.

We built CharlieHR because we grew constantly frustrated by all the boring everyday admin that goes into making great ideas happen. There are too many emails and too many spreadsheets… we felt that much of it could (and should!) be automated and that while building a company is hard, running one really shouldn’t be. We’re building tools to empower entrepreneurs with more time do more of what matters and more of what they love!
Our free plan gives you enough powers to get started and stays free for as many people as you want, for as long as you want. Our paid plans will offer additional premium features and services in the future.

We rate trust higher than anything. It doesn't take much to run a few servers for small startups using some basic features. It isn't like they were taking feature requests from free customers and that's okay. But, for companies it is an additional effort to move the data out to any other open source or free software. Wouldn't have opted for it if it was mentioned earlier that they take promises lightly.
Pros:It has basic functionality that is required for a startup
Cons:Went back on their words of keeping it free, forcing people to pay now. Having invested a lot of effort on it, it's a very bad experience

I've been using this for a while and I'm very keen to switch over to them for my businesses. The product is great, and the team are very keen to listen to users.
