Instead of Twitch steamers being confined to Twitch, or YouTube streamers sticking to YouTube, use Castr to reach all our audience in a single click! π₯π
Hey folks! Castr.io allows streamers to stream to multiple platforms simultaneously! πΊ π‘
Instead of Twitch steamers being confined to Twitch, or YouTube streamers sticking to
YouTube, use Castr to reach all our audience in a single click!
Castr is 100% free to use for all its basic features, with some paid upgrades for streaming
superpowers!
FEATURES:
β Add platforms on the fly while streaming. No need to restart encoder.
π Latency is super low thanks to strategically located regional data-centers.
π° Even if we don't support a platform, we offer custom RTMP functionality so people can
stream pretty much anywhere.
π» For streamers that like to buddy up, we offer co-streaming where the two streams are
combined into one for a better viewing experience for the fans.
π We don't do pre-roll ads on streams.
And oh, Castr is not just for streamers! It's a nifty tool for global video conferencing to suit
any need π― (meetings, events, seminars, etc.) Check it out and let me know what you think π€
P.S Iβd love to giveaway the BROADCAST X2 plan to PH users for 2 months! (credit card not required) Just let me know in the comments, and Iβll send you via the new ProductHunt chat feature β π
@govindasunil im probably gonna be a douche in what im gonna to tell but:
Have you read about Restream.Io?
Probably this could sound not encoraging but with the prices and with the current features Castr.Io provide you need to add something on product info that could be adapted and in a jerk way could crash competition challengers
@homers1993 We are very happy to hear your feedbacks π
I'm totally aware of restream, and they are the one who is leading the market for the last few years and they are really doing a good job :)
We are still working on new features for Castr, and we will be rolling out more updates in the next few weeks. As of now our prices are very cheap when compared with restream, but we lack some key features which i agree with but as mentioned we are still working on it and we will be rolling out new features soon.
Thanks again for the feedback.
@govindasunil as a restream user i was expecting this to come, i have no "only one side turn to hype" , have created account and im waiting for surprises
Interested in Watching MultiStreaming Services Competition that is coming up
Restream.io Vs Castr.io
I know that its not the only ones but recently are the ones i know about being in the scene.
Dont Blame you boys but this matches gonna need popcorns
Seems cool to be able to stream to multiple platforms, but seems like it would be a headache w/o a built in tool to manage the various platforms' notifications & chats.
@mrkhdly Thanks for taking time Mark, loving your suggestion already π.
P.S similar features are expected to roll out in coming weeks, stay tuned :)
@androidlove Seems like a valid query/argument Carlos :D
Lets have it this way:
- We surely got inspired from restream(we do) and do consider Castr a competitor to the other app.
- Castr doesn't require one to have paid subscription to switch/toggle platforms on the fly, this happens even with a free subscription pack. Moreover Limited access to Facebook Live and Custom server push is included in free pack (atleast for now π).
- At the moment, We like to think our subscriptions cheaper than the other app and hope to remain this way with time.
- Castr happens to leverage our comprehensive streaming solution Haxr.io, so there are amazing features already considered (some still being discussed) and are expected to roll out in coming weeks, filling the gaps others don't but we happen to have ATM.
Thanks Carlos , for letting us differentiate with other service(s).
Wow, thanks a ton Nikola β, made our day with Castr's very first review and
even a cheered one π€. Super motivated to see a user having great time with our app.
Thank you for taking time Bro
Just signed up, I would love that BROADCAST X2 plan that you mentioned to give it a shot. My only piece of feedback would be either ditch the password for phone verification (password less), or don't require me do phone verification if I also need a password. It was a little redundant in the signup flow.
@stephensilber Hello Stephen,
Thank you for the feedback, we feel phone verification is more secure for getting real users :)
And security is a concern as well, and we are working on Two Factor authentications for securing accounts more as well.
And your account will be upgraded shortly π
@stephensilber Thanks Stephen for signing in and exploring Castr β.
We have just upgraded your account to BROADCAST X2 plan, begin streaming with more capacity and keep us posted with further suggestions/recommendations.
Thanks mate!
Hello Favio,
Thank you very much for the feedback, but if you compare our prices with restream we are very cheap when compared with restream.
They charge $19 for custom RTMP where as we charge none π
And for $29.99 you will get 5 custom locations / Facebook streams with Castr where as in restream you need to pay $49 for 3 custom locations.
In no ways we are expensive when compared with restream π
@ohyesohyes Good question, we are still working on adding more features to Castr.
When comparing with restream, we are missing many features like Chat, Scheduler, Transcoding etc.
We will be launching chat & transcoding in the upcoming weeks. The only reason which I can point out for you to switch will be the pricing, we are cheaper than all our competitors without any sacrifice on quality. :)
If you are looking for some complex video streaming solution then you can check out https://www.haxr.io which powers castr βοΈ.
Looking for features then Haxr is having way more features which include transcoding, DVR, Recording on the cloud etc. π
We would like to keep castr simple, we will be adding key features which is mainly required by users who would like to just restream π.
Anything complicated, haxr is the best bet π₯.
Product reliability/stability should be addressed. Castr agent and Govinda Sunil (who was contacted) should take ownership of the failures and provide fair resolution to customers.
3 consecutive weeks of failure. Other churches experienced the same issues at the same time. Castr deny any product issues.
Single stream connection fine.
Result: Charity no longer able to use the Castr product and following escalation, Castr refused a pro rata refund and we therefore have 11 months of remaining subscription costs for a product which will be completely unused.
Can I pull a stream and restream it to FB. I could do it with mixer... Not sure twitch has the same features with this. Would be a shame cause I would hate to cancel my account again
The verification process was really slow and I had to submit another number to get confirmation. Their brand color is blue-ish but all the colors in their dashboard are red. Seemed like I was using Restream under another name.
Pros:
Good user onboarding
Cons:
I think the pricing is irrelevand and high, the approval takes long and I especially didn't like the sms verification
Hello Michael,
Thanks for the comment, and very happy to hear that you liked our user onboarding process.
If you compare with the competition we have much better pricing and quality of service, and we have more features compared with the other providers as well.
We would be very happy to show you around the platform if you can get back to us and i can show you all the features which you have.
And also let me know what made you feel like the pricing is very high, you can compare with competition and our pricing is much better and we have much better infrastructure as well.
Our motive is to provide the best price for the best quality service.
Get back to us if you have any questions and we will be very happy to help you.
The oddest thing about Castr is that the emails read like a college students writing to his best friend. Here's what they said last week about Facebook switching to secure streaming connections:
... "BUT, this does mean youβll need a new way to stream to Facebook. What this means for you? Right now, very little :)Weβve added in RTMPS support for Facebook into Castr. So just keep doing what youβve always done with Castr, and you shouldnβt have any trouble."
... In other words, it was "things are changing but don't worry, we changed too," email. Then, today, unhappily, this is from the email announcing a discontinuation of free services:
... "What will happen to my free account? Donβt worry, you wonβt be left high and dry. We got your back. Youβre being grandfathered in. Starting tomorrow, weβll be transferring you to a free 7 day trial account. You can keep using Castr exactly as you always have for the next 7 days. At the end of the trial your streams will be disabled."
... So, Castr's idea of "we got your back" (sic) is they'll give 7 days for you to decide what to do, before disabling your streams. Disappointing.
EDIT: This is my first review I've posted, and ProductHunt seems to be strripping line breaks from the "tell us more" section. Apologies.
Pros:
It used to be free competition to Restream.io.
Cons:
The platform has gone "paid only," even though it remains unprofessional and unpolished.
Hello JT,
This is Govinda from Castr.
I'm very sorry if you didn't like the way we emailed you, we were trying to be more friendly with you instead of making the email look like a very corporate one.
We monetized and removed our free plan for a reason because we need to provide you with better service and we need to make our service better as well.
We improved our whole network after monetization, and we scaled up our customer support as well, and we need to keep making the product better and make Castr a one-stop video broadcasting solution. When compared with restream, it's just for simulcasting, but we have many features which make Castr very different from Restream.
You will see more features coming in the next few weeks, and we will be shipping new features faster.
Thank you once again for taking the time to review us, contact us anytime, and we will be pleased to have you back on Castr.

Ok, im gonna be friendly with this one.
Restream.io offer a better and enjoyable experience in this kind of services BUT
If Castr wants to compete with it prices need to be negotiable AND BASED ON CREATOR PROFILE (thats whats missing )
Pros:multiple streaming options
Cons:high price for subscription
