Got questions? Ideas? Horror stories about deciphering lab results? I'm all ears! 👂
P.S. For all you ProductHunt early adopters, do not miss on 50% annual deal discount.
@owenfar, thanks for the comment. That is an excellent observation. We are working with different approaches to maximize recognition accuracy. In the premium version, you can send result via the email to get ~100% recognition accuracy regardless of the lab/hospital you got results from. Automatic recognition works best with structured results & common formats in English.
I believe in a few months, LLMs will be good enough to remove the humans from the loop )
@bohdan_mashtalir Congrats on the successful launch! Wishing you a future filled with success and innovation. What’s been your biggest motivator throughout this journey?
@bohdan_mashtalir Hey, this is a very impressive product. Yes, there have been multiple horror stories about deciphering lab results, so I'm really glad someone is taking care of it. I'm so excited to use it!
Thanks for hunting us and thank you for compliments on the design @benln!
The sleep is definitely on our map as a key health metric which augments blood work and more health data — we just rolled out the lifestyle sleep quiz to give people first levers to pull (and 10+ interventions to improve the sleep).
Our end goal is a holistic view (i.e. everything in one place) of health while ensuring all features are privacy-solid, seamless and accurate so that's why we take our time to get it right :)
Congratulations on the launch @anastasiia_pryimachenko, I would like to know the backstory behind your launch, what got you started to work on Carrot Care, What was the motivation?
@bilalasif Thank you so much for the congratulations! 😊 The journey behind Carrot Care goes back to my school days when I dreamed of becoming a surgeon. I was deeply fascinated by biology and chemistry, and that passion has always stayed with me. Though life took me down a different path, my love for health and medicine never faded. Now, I’m channeling that energy into something I truly enjoy—contributing into a medical app that simplifies bloodwork tracking and helps people balance their lifestyle, all in one place 🥕✨ It’s been an incredible preparation adventure so far, and I’m excited to see where Carrot Care goes 😊
@anastasiia_pryimachenko congrats on the launch! This is indeed a very important healthcare measure. Are you also implementing in hospitals or mainly D2C?
@alexdigitalmkt Grateful for your support🥕Answering your question, yes, that is a D2C for now as we are operating in health & fitness category. We are talking with different wellness facilities to enhance their offers, yet not interfering with hospitals. Our main focus is on the prevention and optimisation, not treating diseases🙌
@rrhoover, valid question. Thanks.
There are a few key differences compared to other folks:
- Privacy focused. All the data is stored locally on your device with optional backup to personal Cloud.
- 1000+ biomarkers & ability to set custom ranges to cover the individual use cases.
- Bootstrapping with no pressure for aggressive upselling.
- We do not sell blood tests. Available globally. Any geo. Any Lab. Simplified. Standardized.
Function Health has a similar mission but an insurance-focused, US-exclusive approach. Inside Tracker, Thriva, and so on have their own strengths. Yet nothing to fully fit our vision.
Side answer: Continuous testing using interstitial fluid rather than blood to detect things like cortisol, etc., is on the horizon. A “Portable mini-lab” in each bathroom is probably coming in the next 10 years too.
@dzianis_yatsenka hi, thank you sooo much! We've got heartwarming stories from customer interview in our inboxes and support — it's definitely a fulfilling project for the team.
With regards to the app language we stick to English and Polish for now, as for import we cover English + EU languages in premium tier for custom imports.
Hi Bohdan,
Carrot Care sounds like a game-changer for personalized health. The easy-to-understand visualizations and comprehensive explanations are particularly appealing. How user-friendly is the interface for someone new to tracking blood biomarkers?
@web3_antivirus hi - we tried to make it as easy as possible with manual entry, PDF import, etc. But we're constantly trying to make it better! cc @bohdan_mashtalir
Congrats on the launch! I immediately downloaded the app to try it out. But, when I upload my recent bloodwork reports pdf, it just keeps showing the loading icon with text 'We're recognizing your tests...'. I've been on the same screen for more than 10 min. Maybe there are still some kinks to work out.
Very interested! Will try it out again later :)
@vemkiran thanks. Weird situation, what kind of PDF did you upload. We can take it to the mail to figure it out. Let me know on bm@carrotcare.health if the issue persists.
@vemkiran hi, thanks for the reporting! We'll make sure to fix stuff, awarded you a good find!
Bohdan / carrot@ are always open for any in-detail reports!
@ednevsky nice to see you in comment section! I love that you're one of our super early first customers and I'm extremely grateful for your guidance and feedback at our baby steps. P.S. We should work out more and take olive oil shots after!
@davisnz hi! thank you! yes it does, although we have some work to do to make sure everything is imported (same as Apple Health). Some biomarkers are not available in Apple Health which introduces a little bit of friction. We should do better and we will!
This is an interesting take on owning your own data - medical edition. Honestly, in the past, given medical data is useless outside of hands of doctors, it didn't make sense owning this data. But I can see this being useful now with the help of professionally vetted database of information AND in the case that you want to get second opinions on important decision.
For example, it was not easy and secure for me to move my dentist records across board. I can see software like this helping with this use case in the future!
Congrats on the launch @bohdan_mashtalir and team!
@tonyhanded, thanks for your support. We believe that health is the primary responsibility of each individual and with a growing body of research we can approach doctor way more precisely. Local, private data storage and holistic sharing can go a long way...
@kate_ramakaieva what can be more important than health, right? More advanced insights, more biomarkers and more ways to connect your blood data to general health & performance are on the way.
Hey, congrats for this product! Simple question: we we have blood analysis, would we be able to import it (it's usually pdf file) so the app could read it and import the data? Could be an interesting feature I guess
@fberrez hello, great question! Yes, we do have PDF import feature which is automatic and runs via OCR + deterministic algorithms. It usually achieves 70% customer satisfaction. If it does not read all your data we support 100% precision in the premium tier! We're constantly improving and making the OCR better :)
Congrats on the launch! This is super cool. I've been tracking steps and sleep for more than ten years now and have been wanting to go a step further with blood work.
@aditimroy hi! thanks so much - i love doing at least 10k while staring at my Garmin :) we're shipping more and more around blood e.g. steps may come handy as a metric if you wear CGMs - we explore CGMs/lifestyle atm
Pretty good app for figuring out the mineral deficiencies and taking action accordingly, will tell my friends to check it out. Congrats on the launch @bohdan_mashtalir 🤠
@ali_eskandari appreciated that. On top of deficiencies, we can see that is the impact on the hormones and other systems. Fixing wisely, ahah. Hope your friends will like it.
Congrats on the launch @kurilo! Bloodwork is such an important part of health optimization and yet so many people ignore it because it's tough to meaningfully track and extract insights from your data.
Before now, folders of PDFs or manually entering data into a spreadsheet was the only option - without a biomed background, this just becomes a nightmare.
Carrot lets you take control of your lab results and bring them back into your health stack.
Really excited for what you guys are building - health deserves great UX too!
@elliotpadfield Hi! Means a lot to have your support here!
wr to spreadsheets we still going to ship a feature where people can export/import nice google sheets/excel if they want to to keep data portability alive.
Agree on the UI/UX, we can do so much better as the industry and I'm excited for the whole market to upgrade.
Bloodwork analysis is overcomplicated for no good reason. While the labs are pumping out their useless proprietary apps, and Apple is too scared of lawsuits to improve their own Apple Health, this app being released was only a matter of time.
Keep up the good work, and congrats on the launch!
@imalchenko thanks for the inspiring words. We are very privacy focused and store all the data locally, yet doing our best to provide the most value possible insights possible. Steps are great to track, yet timely bloodwork can literally save your life.
