Stream your favorite HDMI devices directly to Vision Pro. Experience
low-latency, high-quality video up to 1080p/60fps. Perfect for gaming,
media playback, and more.
Hello everyone,
I launched CaptureLinker here last year, and today i want to bring you major update for the product. CaptureLinker 2.0
What is 2.0 update?
CaptureLinker 2.0 comes with major core changes. The most notable improvement is the streaming engine update, which much lower latency to match Mac Virtual Display. I’ve also added different resolution settings and MetalFX upscaling (though the effect is subtle).
Additionally, I've included quality-of-life improvements such as environment dimming and direct screen capture
It's available as a free download, so you can try out all the features. I hope you enjoy it—thank you and have a great day!
Streaming HDMI devices to Vision Pro with smooth 1080p/60fps support sounds like a dream setup — especially for gamers and media lovers. Seamless, high-quality, and super useful.
It does have an effect, but it's minimal, so the quality improvement isn't dramatic. I don't want to raise false expectations about this feature. However, it's still a nice feature when viewing content at larger screen sizes. You can easily enable or disable this feature.
Great update, Gary! 👏
How does CaptureLinker 2.0 handle performance during long sessions — any built-in optimizations to prevent overheating or CPU throttling, especially on M1/M2 Macs?
Also curious: are you planning iPad or iPhone support in the future?
Thanks and congrats on the launch 🚀
The app uses first-party integrations like AVFoundation and Metal because they consume much fewer system resources than third-party solutions. The performance is comparable to video meetings or YouTube playback, though the system may throttle frames during heavy loads because of other apps.
For iPad or iPhone support, you can currently use iPad as a host. While we could technically make them clients too, I don't yet see a compelling use case. Do you have any specific scenarios in mind?
This tool is a game-changer for Vision Pro users looking to stream their HDMI devices! With low-latency, high-quality video streaming up to 1080p/60fps, it’s perfect for gaming, media playback, and more. I’m excited to see how it enhances the Vision Pro experience, offering seamless integration and stunning visuals for a variety of uses!
Wow, streaming HDMI devices directly to Vision Pro with low-latency 1080p/60fps sounds amazing! 🎮📺 Can’t wait to try it out for gaming and media playback. This is definitely a game-changer! 🚀🔥 Looking forward to the launch on Product Hunt! 🙌✨
