RECORD A BEAN: tap the microphone and start recording. Talk about your day, tell a joke or share a thought and send it to your close friends and family.
⠀
LISTEN TO YOUR CAPPUCCINO: (mix of your friends’ beans) every morning at 8 am.
Downloaded, signed up and onboarding.. Insert invite code... I don't have one. But I assume I can create my own group and invite my friends but Nah. Is this a private beta or a public launch? Is there an invite code for Product Hunt users?
Hi product lovers,
thanks, @chrismessina for the hunting us and @rrhoover for being one of our early testers.
It was a great surprise to see Cappuccino on PH on this Sunday morning, even though quite unexpected
Our goal with Cappuccino is to provide an amazing way to start the day with a daily show created from the voice messages of your friends.
Currently, we are focusing on offering this experience to small groups of close friends and family. We might extend to other use cases in the future.
Feel free to share your feedback and contact us for any questions/comments you might have.
@chrismessina@rrhoover@odesmoulin@shavin47 Hey Shavin, you can't create a group yet on Android, only join an existing one. We're still very early, and built a stripped down version for Android so no one would be excluded from a close friends or family group.
If you have a friend on iOS who can create a group and invite you, that would work!
Huge fan for Cappuccino. Our family has found a really fun use case that is probably applicable to a lot of potential users (if not language learning, some other kind of education).

Oh wow. I saw PH's tweet about it and I have to say, I want to test it. No, I stand correct, I want it in my life. It looks like a dope idea!
My only question would be around security and privacy, where will the audio beans be stored? Are all the data going to be encripted?
A few weeks ago I signed up and was invited to recommended this to friends, I sent text messages to a few of them. Tomorrow $3.69 (in GBP) will be added to my bill, this money I am paying to promote Cappuccino.
So excited for this! With the onset of video chat fatigue, this is super low friction and a great way to start the day. My friends jumped at the opportunity - I hope it helps us stay connected even though we’re physically apart. Something to look forward to every day and excited to make “themed” days in the future.
@qwoods13 That's awesome to hear! I'm excited for you guys! Hope you'll feel the same joy other Cappuccino members experience. Would love your feedback as you continue using Cappuccino! Btw, what kind of "themed" days are you thinking about? :)
love the concept! 80% of the times I'd rather send a voice message than typing on my phone. @odesmoulin probably I'd add:
1. media support - chats are often about commenting on something (video/image/gif/link).
Nice to have:
2. threads
3. transcripts (maybe pro version to cover the speech 2 text bill)
@giuseppegurgone sorry replying late ...
Love the media support idea. Agree, very often, we record a bean about something. Adding this in on our roadmap. Not in the next 2-3 weeks, but hopefully this fall. 👍
I'm fortunate to have been using this product since day 1 and found it to be such a breakthrough for keeping in touch with my closest friends (all from outside the tech world!), especially as we all live in different cities around the world. It quickly becomes part of your daily routine (and low key therapeutic) to take 2 mins out of your day to reflect on what you've been up to/how you're feeling/any challenges you're facing/or just to summarize the news in your life, and frictionlessly record those thoughts to share with your friends. The following morning, it became such a joy to play my cappuccino as I'm getting ready for the day ahead, and have my morning filled with the voices and stories of my closest friends. 🥰☕️
@sararahmcb Thanks so much for sharing your experience on Cappuccino. We're currently working on one of the ideas/feedback you shared with Gilles (#prompts 🤗 )
Been loving using Cappuccino these past few weeks, such a lovely and more intimate way to connect with my family and friends. Have loved listening to these mini podcast of what's going on in their world!
Wowwww this is so amazing! Gorgeous sign-up and I've gone straight to create a little family Cappuccino for my parents and sister who are all living in different countries, so really excited to see how this brings us together as a family each day :D trialing it with my parents before bringing it to my work team ;) Congrats ?makers great job
@josie_stoker Awesome to hear! Cappuccino is great for families! I hope you'll feel the same joy that other Cappuccino members (myself included!) and their families are experiencing!
I love this concept. Trying to get my friends onboard. Does the iOS app feel a little sluggish (goes unresponsive) just for me or it is still being ironed out?
@annkur Thank you! Were you able to get your friends onboard? We've been a bit overwhelmed welcoming a lot of new people on Cappuccino! Might explain the slowness of the app sometimes, but let us know if it's still the case! hello(at)cappuccino(dot)com
Well, I like the idea, and have a friend who wants to start with me, but we're both on Android. Would be nice for a system of passing out invites to Android (84% of market share).
I've been using the product since Jan. It has been quite a delightful way to stay in touch with my mom and brothers. If you can imagine days are very long and really easy to get lost and miss a phone call or text ... Cappuccino has created a delightful way to stay in touch despite the chaos of now.
@rzolution Hi Zaynab! The team is actively developing the group creation on Android. In the meantime, if you email hello(at)cappuccino(dot)fm we could get you in!
I love the product and the experience. I use it with two groups of close friends, to share daily updates and thoughts. Each morning we are looking forward to receiving our Cappuccinos (and the neat music arrangement).
Hello guys! That's really good idea. I like the restriction for the publishing and consumption of content, and I like audio format for communications.
I tested Android App for a couple of days (with my iOS friends ;)).
These are changes I want to suggest:
- remove any music from recorded background, but you can add very light sounds like Jingles between people's audio recordings
- I don't need to listen to myself inside a daily "podcast from friends", maybe do it somewhere else
- I still didn't know which of my audio recordings would make it to the final version the next day, this morning it was strange to hear several parts that seemed to have to be re-recorded
Thank you! I will wait for updates
