Getting hugged to death, won't load.

@dshan oh no! It should be good now.

I'd love to know which cities are featured in your 'city' photos. Anyone who's developed a travel app knows how tedious it is to find good quality pictures of cities or specific points of interest to populate the app!
Linds
@gillianim Hey Gillian, thanks for your feedback! That sounds like a great idea; I'll work with our photographers to see if we can get more data about the City photos that we've posted already, and that we add in the future.
Jad Limcaco
Really nice photos. This is another useful resource for sure. Thanks Shopify team!

This is awesome @_lindsaycraig !

@harshpendse Thanks so much!

Cool, thank you! What is the difference to pexels.com?
Linds
@casaout We're focussed on stock photos for entrepreneurs. We're releasing entire collections of high res images that are centered around trending business ideas. e.g. you can get all the photos you need to start a coffee store (product photos, hero images) and to run marketing campaigns (Facebook ads, posters etc) with a consistent look and feel. We also have more general keywords as well, like sunsets and mountains, and are continuing to build out our library.

What is the difference between Burst and the other stock sites?
Linds
@dredurr Burst is a free stock photo site for entrepreneurs. We're giving away all the photos you need to run a business in a bunch of trending niches: product photography and images that were shot for Facebook ads, catalogs, ecommerce websites etc. 9 of these business collections even come with in-depth case studies: https://burst.shopify.com/busine... We'll be adding 11 more soon. Of course, we have lots of other more general images of food, lanscapes etc., as we're still catering to all the designers, developers and content creators out there. Also, all our images are completely free, which makes us different from paid sites like iStock or Shutterstock.

@_lindsaycraig @dredurr Incredibly well done. And, me being me, I gravitated to "Business Ideas" instantly. Lots of mutually beneficial overlap with something I'm organizing. Here's to the future!!

Is this more than a smart growthhack for shopify lead generation?
Jesse Orndorff
Awesome work! I will use this for sure! I especially love the popular collections view, I find discovery on these sites a bit of a challenge, but I think you've done a lovely job.

@jesseorndorff Thanks Jesse! Stay tuned for more Collections :)

We just launched Burst, a new free stock photo site with over 1000 stunning free images. They're available under the Creative Commons Zero license so you're free to use and edit them as you see fit. We built Burst to help entrepreneurs make better products, websites, and marketing campaigns. Most of the pictures are original photos that were taken in-house and are themed around trending business niches — everything from DIY beard oil to Aliexpress LED sneakers. Of course, there are more general photographs as well; you can find free images of food, sunsets, mountains and more. As far as I know, we're the first site to give away a massive library of free product photos. We'll add new photos every week, so please let us know if you have specific requests (burst@shopify.com). If you're looking for a 'Burst' of inspiration 😉, we've also created a bunch of in-depth case studies that have all the info you need to start your own business in nine different niches. Each case study comes with a free set of high-res photos that you can use on your social media accounts, website, marketing materials and beyond. It's a super early version of the site but we'd love to have your feedback. Also, if you're interested in having your photos featured, please reach out!

@jevinsew so happy to hear that!

Hate to be the first to go in on it, but I wonder why make this instead of say uploading them to Unsplash? What does this site offer that is different to it, because companies already have accounts to contribute to that site (Nasa is a very popular one) and I see that some of shopify's employees already do use Unsplash too.
Linds
@jthawme There are a lot of great resources out there but most platforms limit the quantity and variety that you can upload. We wanted to share a massive library (we're soft launching with 1000 to start) and that includes a lot of niche product photography — like photos of DIY beard oil or popular dropshipping products. Those entrepreneurial images didn't seem like a natural fit for existing online photo communities, so we built our own.
Jonny Thaw
@_lindsaycraig Ah I see, I didnt know that about other sites. I see the limitations of that then. Its a shame it can't be put into a central repository, but understand the reasoning behind making this seperate site. Sorry to be the one to ask the comparison straight away! Shots look great
Linds
@jthawme It's cool :) and thanks so much!
Steph Liverani
@_lindsaycraig @jthawme Hey Linds :) Would you mind clarifying what you mean by limiting the quantity and variety that our photographers can upload?
Linds
@stephliverani @jthawme We weren't able to find a platform that would support us sharing 100s or 1000s of photos per week, so we built Burst: stock photography for entrepreneurs.
Bartek K. Soltys
Looks really awesome but I'm wondering how you'll be able to make money since I'm not seeing any ads on the site. Will you be featuring paid images along free ones at some point? Great variety and quality of photos so far :)
Patrick Thibodeau
This is really great! We will definitely use this.
