Your old browser was a data vacuum, sucking it up and selling to the highest bidder. Brave welcomes you to the new Internet. One where your time is valued, your personal data is kept private, and you actually get paid for your attention through Brave Rewards.
@tomoverchaplin - Hi Tom, Thanks! I agree. I would argue performance alone is reason enough. Brave is the fastest browser:
It doesn't render trackers or spammy ads which gives it a real advantage over others, like Chrome. Combine that with the fact it's a fork from Chromium, you get all the benefits from Chrome with none of the baggage.
@lastridgely very true my friend. Not to mention, they support in inadvertently supported smaller creator channels with YouTuber integration. That's how I found them, and have used them ever since. I love Brave.
@tomoverchaplin Extensions. Right?
I have _so_ many extensions in Chrome that I run a few SaaS apps as dedicated webapps (thanks to Coherence Pro through SetApp), just so I can load in related extensions (e.g. Mixmax for Gmail). I use Safari as my daily runner, but always have Chrome close at hand. I keep a Chrome profile just for shopping so I can load up like 15 shopping-related extensions only when I need 'em.
Woof.
@carlo_cruz I had an issue where Brave totally hosed up my bookmarks with a sync. Thankfully I had them in Chrome as well so I could recover. I do really want it all to work. I've been using Chromium Edge as another Chromium-based browser, but even though I trust M$ slightly more with my personal browser data, it's not by much.
@carlo_cruz@grberk Hey, Tom here from Brave's privacy & security team. We know that sync isn't our strongest point right now, and that it's a really important feature. We're working on it. From the start, we've been trying to ensure that Brave's sync system is completely private — and you should expect no less from us. We've made some mistakes along the way, but we are focused on getting comprehensive sync working for everyone as soon as we can.
Used it for more than a year and a happy user. Also try replacing Google with DuckDuckGo as your default search engine. Together; Two simple steps to take back some important parts of your Internet Privacy.
