🚀 Just built my entire website — helloaria.in — using bolt.new, and I’m seriously impressed.

Let me walk you through the journey 🧵👇


1/

I started using @boltnew as an experiment… but it quickly turned into my go-to platform. Within hours, I had a live prototype. Within 3 days, a full-blown website. The speed is unreal.

It felt like Figma + code + hosting had a baby 🤯

That said… as much as I loved it, the token usage caught up with me 😅

By the time I fully shaped helloaria.in, I had used around 50M tokens — and yeah, it got a bit expensive for me as a solo founder.

Amazing write up. I just built my first real project with built over the weekend, it was closer to 4m tokens, but the app is pretty simple. I plan on writing a blog post and will share when it is up.

@loan_delessert I found the discord helpful for getting prompt tips. Also aggressively using undo and rollback to keep context maintainable

I think you’ve spent 4x more than what’s actually needed! 50M is a lot, man! Honestly, the work doesn’t seem equivalent to the price of 50M tokens. You should give Lovable.dev a try once. I’m not biased toward anyone, but you’ll definitely notice the difference. Here’s what I designed using Lovable’s free plan—it hardly took me 8-10 prompts to build this. And it’s not just the front end, even the backend that makes the tool work. You can actually use the tool https://glassy-image-alchemist.l... . Took me barely 15-20 minutes!

I definitely went overboard exploring every feature Bolt had to offer — part of the fun, part of the learning curve.

I've signed up a few months ago but haven't had time to fully dive in (probably should have paused my subscription). Will have more time soon. Have a few ideas that I'd like to try building with it. Can't wait to try it. Especially after reading this. Prior to this I build an app for myself just using Claude 3.5 inside Perplexity and had a ton of fun doing it.
