The pretty templates were all pro, so I clicked the Start 3-Day Free Program button, and was stumped when it took me to another screen without letting me continue editing. It would be nice to get a push notification or something later to let me know about the billing structure, but for now I can continue to edit the photos I want to.

Congratulations on the product launch Team Blend. I uploaded my profile picture to the product and the results were great. Just had small bleedy edges but was ignorable. I liked that preset templates are ready for display which helps me to get an idea of the final look of the outcome.
Will I be allowed to edit them like Canva? I can't check as everything is behind the payment wall.

Wow - really impressive background removal! The applications for this go beyond ecommerce (though it's amaaazing for that). It's even fun to take photos of pets and friends and put them on funny backgrounds :D
Quick question. I see many background categories (easter, outdoors etc) but no easy way to browse them without scrolling endlessly. Are you planning to add these categories to the filters? @jamkam

When you give a particular image, we automatically filter and sort the 200+ categories based on what we identify as product and the region from which you are using. So most users typically dont have to scroll beyond a few categories to find what they need. We also have a search bar, which we are improving.
In Blend Studio, at the moment, we only have 9 categories, which we are increasing this week, but there is also an app release which categorizes them better.
@jamkam Interesting okay - thanks for the reply! In my case the first few categories were all Easter related so I had to scroll a while. I then went to 'Filters' expecting to be able to filter by category, which felt intuitive. Just my 2 cents :)

@david_glass Fashion especially clothing and shoes is at the top, followed by food, decor and furniture.

I have encountered a few similar free services online. What is unique to Blend?

There are design tools out there, or recently background generators. How Blend differs starts from the first step itself. In every single design app, you stare at 1000s of templates and is expected to pick one. However at Blend, User uploads a product photo, and our models do the heavy lifting of figuring out what your product is, cutting out the background, and figuring out what colors matches them, write the correct copy etc.

What are the necessary things to keep in mind for better outcome ?
@shiiv_shankar Thanks Shiv. Blend takes good photos and makes them Amazing photoshoots or designs. So a good rule of thumb is to take photos with good lighting and we can do wonders with it.

One question: How would you manage the lights on the product to fit the contrast of the background?

Sorry if the title confused you. Blend is not a product mockup builder. It is a design and photography tool for actual physical products, and it produces real usable images and designs.

Downloaded and played around "teleporting" items into different backgrounds.
Love that I can jump right in. Minimal onboarding and everything seemed very intuitive. I think I was creating my first Blend in less than 60 seconds of downloading the App.
So smart to have the seasonal, timely themed scenes you've provided, very relevant to have the Easter options on top of the suggestions.
Was able to quickly add photos from the camera roll and take new photos. The spatial orientation of the original image is just right to be believable in the Blend. Not sure of a way around that without some volumetric capture or the Blend AI making some 3D assumptions about the item to give me a 3D axis to work from to manipulate.
Editing layers, is super easy and intuitive as well. Only a small critique for the free version, I understand the need to watermark, but it didn't appear that I could move the watermark around the screen to optimize it for the photos I was editing. Not complaining that the brand bug exists, just wish I had a little more flexibility in placement as a free user. Of course, the option exists to upgrade and get rid of it, so there is a path to resolve the issue regardless.

@reach_chris It automatically suggest you backgrounds. Check our Blend Studio on the app. We magically generate amazing looking background that blends well with your product. all you need to do is to select a scene.

@johnnywat Not yet. Our iOS app used to work in mac, looks like it doesnt work anymore. Will fix that.
You can use our web version for now. Limited but still solves a lot of usecases!
This is beautiful. In one of my previous ventures, we used to have a team spend over 3-5 days per drop creating the catalog imagery, and then an ongoing effort for marketing campaigns. More than the cost savings, the ability to launch every drop faster is a big win. Faster order->golive for a brand means quicker rotations of working capital, and that's golden.
