I made Sheets Wrapped to find out how much I did in Google Sheets during the year. Initially I wanted to just see how many sheets I created, vs how many sheets I edited. But then I kept writing more and more apps script code and got more and more information. Sorting out how many unique owners of sheets I've edited. Finding out how many Untitled Spreadsheets I had. And each time I ran the apps script it took a few minutes. *Yes, I have a lot of files in my Google Drive.* So I added some fun festive facts about Christmas that show up in little toast messages while it's working behind the scenes.

Congrats on the launch @kampheyapproved. This is super cool. Now I'm wondering when we'll see Wrapped versions for Netflix, Amazon, Gmail, WhatsApp, PH, LinkedIn, Slack, etc. Maybe we should think about one for Draftly.so too!
Andrew Kamphey
@ashitvora IF there were API's to get a consumer's data and then analyze it. Then heck ya it's possible!

This is cool – something similar should be done with movies we have already watched. I want to create a long list with such movies because sometimes happens to me that I forget I have watched some movie and by the accident watch it again. Then, I have dejavu :DD
Andrew Kamphey
@busmark_w_nika Do you have any way to keep track of the movies you watch? I wish something like disney+ or netflix had a simple consumer api that could push out some interesting information. There is LetterBoxd, have you tried that kind of social movie sharing? It seems like it's goodreads but for movies instead of books. I have hooked up omdb's API to google sheets, perhaps there's some simple implementation to pick a movie and save it with a ratings. Then monthly compile them, and/or yearly.

@kampheyapproved actually, only some local websites, where I watch those movies, but if people could somehow mark it in database and then it would reflect in the sheet, they couldn't watch it again like me :DD
Andrew Kamphey
@busmark_w_nika Here is a video on youtube from me on how to get movie Posters into a google sheet using the OMDBapi. You can use that as a starting point to keep track of movie data that you pick from a list. or enter the name/title of.

@kampheyapproved Wow, you are so quick – I should consider creating a database with those movies + add categories like Comedy, Drama etc.

@kampheyapproved everything was cool until i saw a "tip request" I really hate seeing this, just charge more, but adding a Tip on a service leaves me a very bad taste. Also I see this as a marketing strategy for bettersheets.com...., if this was free it would go viral for sure... but i dont think that much people if any would pay for this
Andrew Kamphey
@rupgo it is free. That tip is something gumroad does. Not me. Just pay $0. Not expecting people to pay for this. Just use it. Edit: i figured out where to turn off tipping in gumroad now.

What a great idea to celebrate all sheets I've created! It'll be interesting to see the highlights from the year.
Sam @CRANQ
Yikes, not looking forward to seeing "no. of hrs spent" on GoogleSheets... Love the idea though - Wonder what my best sheet was :)) Are people sharing these results!?
Andrew Kamphey
@cranqnow I shared my results in the how to. to show what the results look like. Nobody's emailed or tweeted their results yet.

This is such a cool way to look back on everything I’ve done in Google Sheets. A great way to celebrate small wins.
Andrew Kamphey
@jiyo_root small wins and big sheets
