Axel is a virtual assistant who helps you develop a culture of transparency and ownership in your team. You set up the right 1:1 and weekly check-in from templates in a few clicks. Our secret sauce: no need to add another tool, everything is done in Slack.

At Product Hunt we used Humble Dot for weekly standups. Unfortunately, they had to shut the service down. Axel might be a good alternative.
Arnaud Weiss
@rrhoover Hi Ryan! We’d love to have the Product Hunt team among our early adopters πŸ˜„ . Who should I talk to within PH to schedule a quick walkthrough?

I was part of the beta testers community since day one! Axel helps me make everyone in my team accountable and develop a culture of results! The "mood" feature was a killer for me as well. I get an overview of my team's motivation at any time.
Arnaud Weiss
@yannick_mthy Thanks a lot Yannick! Your insights were incredibly useful to build the product
Edouard PETIT
Simple and efficient. As a beta tester, I highly recommend Axel to apply managerial best practices and boost employees engagement!
Arnaud Weiss
@edouardpetit Thanks a lot Edouard! We appreciate your support ;)

Do people actually use it? I would be worried that employees would be reluctant to tell their bosses how they feel? Isn't it always "I'm good. Don't fire me because I always am good."
Arnaud Weiss
Hi hunters and thanks Chris πŸ™ With Jeanne and Antoine, we're excited to introduce you to Axel! Axel sets up powerful rituals for your team (stand up, 1:1...), 100% through SlackπŸš€. We've interviewed more than a hundred managers and C-level from the best companies in the world (Stripe, Google, Qonto...) to understand the foundations of successful management. We learnt two things while running these interviews: -Successful team leaders have rituals (such as 1:1) meant to develop a culture of ownership and empowerment -Excellence is idiosyncratic, there is no "one-ritual-fits-all" We built Axel to help you leverage best-in-class rituals templates. BUT we've made sure you can personnalise them as much as you want to build your own path to success! We're looking forward to hearing your feedback! We have a one month free trial and we're offering product hunt community 50% off forever πŸ’Έ. You just have to subscribe before the 25/12 to our yearly plan with the code PHunter4ever. Cheers,
Genia Trofimova
Hi Team! Noticed your product, quick question: what is the recommended team size to start implementing this? Have you found a magic number in your customer discovery? When using Axel is less time-consuming than doing it manually?
Mauricio Morales
This is cool! We're building a chatbot that does this and a bit more: https://www.dailybot.com - it's great to see more initiatives in this space. Congrats
Szymon Adamiak
It looks interesting. Is there a mechanism to convince employees to use it? Like gamification?
Arnaud Weiss
@sadamiak Hi Szymon, Thanks for your question. So far we didn't implement any gamification mechanism, as we believe that it's a managerial responsibility to make sure that everyone in the team shares their progress and goals. There are reminders though. But it could definitely be a leverage to increase adoption! Do you have anything specific you'd like to see implemented?
Szymon Adamiak
@sadamiak @weiss_arnaud Nothing specific in mind. In my experience many employees are reluctant to use such tools or provide brief and superficial answers. Live stand-ups are easier, people are more likely to engage. So I was wondering if you've got any solutions for that.
Arnaud Weiss
@sadamiak @weiss_arnaud What we've observed so far: -Most companies use Axel to prepare meetings rather than replace them. The idea is to make sure that everyone prepared their part seriously beforehand. -We have very good completion rates so far. Nevertheless, we noticed the repetition of the same questions every week / day is driving completion down on the long run. That's why we're working on a "roulette" feature for meetings. It wil pick randomly a question among a pool at every occurence 😊
Arnaud Weiss
@sadamiak @weiss_arnaud My pleasure !
Brian Fritton
Very clean, easy way to sync with your team. I like that it asks more about the capacity, stress level, etc. of your team than just project status. It feels far less big brother than other solutions as well.
Arnaud Weiss
@brian_fritton Thanks a lot Brian!
Alexandre Attia
