What can you expect from Apple in 2025?

Apple is hosting its 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference starting Monday (You can watch live here), and there are rumours about what people can expect.

I read the TechCrunch article, and some hints are:

  • iOS Redesign & Naming Change [iOS may shift to a new naming system based on the year (e.g., iOS 26 instead of iOS 19)].

  • Apple is likely to announce small AI updates across its OS, including AI-powered Siri enhancements, a smarter Health app, improved Messages, and new features in Shortcuts, Photos, and battery management.

  • Gaming App: A new gaming app may replace Game Centre, offering Apple Arcade access, leaderboards, and integration with iMessage and FaceTime.

  • Apple may release new features for Arabic handwriting and a bi-directional keyboard for Arabic-English switching

  • Other OS Updates: AirPods could gain real-time translation, head gestures, better sleep detection, and studio mic mode.

These are preliminary estimates.

What would please you as an Apple user?

*Personally, I’d love to see FaceTime offer real-time translation with AI-powered voice dubbing or something related to AI, cause I feel like Apple has fallen a bit behind in this area. 😅🙈

I noticed that the IOS 26 interface was updated to include a lot of translucency. Honestly, I think it loses the simplicity of Apple's character and moves closer to Android.

@onbing I do not get it how it will help their users :D

Over the past year, I haven't been very interested in any of Apple's updates. I don't know what's been happening internally, but I've been disappointed with them over the past year, or rather, disappointed with the content released by Apple, a company known for its design, over the past few years

@hi_caicai Same here, no real innovations

@hi_caicai I remember how everybody was bullish on AI 2 years back and they released their glasses. It was kinda off :D

Very curious to see what they are planning around gaming after acquiring RAC7 last month!

Nika

@rbwest, I think there wasn't much on this topic. But we have some glass UI/UX customisation :D

Would assume the HomePod with screen. Apps will need to be developed for this platform. But opening up the Apple intelligence for third party apps would be amazing!

@mark_heijnekamp I am curious on a new design of iOS products in general tbh :D

It feels off with inconsistent physics, making it more distracting than functional. The transparency also tanks readability.

@nikhilyadav_34 Need to admit that the glow effect is cute, but not practical :D
