This isn't a surprising move, but end of the day, teachers will have to pick between the cheaper Chromebooks and a more expensive Apple device.
I hope that Apple launches initiatives to discount devices for schools overwhelmingly attended by low-income students - experience with Apple devices is as close to a job requirement as possible for many high-paying jobs in tech, and letting ~$100 determine a student's ability to learn seems shortsighted.
@nivo0o0 same here! My iPad Air 2 is due for a refresh so I can run Arkit and build those "amazing experiences" for kids! I don't really care about True Tone and better camera...
