I was roaming around Amazon.com this evening and discovered a new feature (I think) that I've never seen before. It's called Ideas Lists and lets you created Pinterest-like boards for products on Amazon. So of course, I created my first ideas list. You can check it out here: http://a.co/aOAMgXN These appear to be a bit different from classic wishlists. First off, they look a lot nicer, 2nd they have a draft and publish state, and include a short link that makes it easy to share. My idea lists showed up in a new tab near my other lists. This looks like a cool way to make a collection of products that help someone get started on a new project. I was able to add products from their product detail page via the add to list button. Once I got back to my idea list, I was able to add comments on each product in my list. Check it out for yourself here: http://amazon.com/ideas (I think you have to be logged in to see it and create a list)

@hnshah Clicking on the link goes to plain old wish list for most.

This is pretty dope🚬🚬 to put on a resource page. It would be easier to load with affiliate links

More like Kit than Pinterest, If Ideas included your affiliate links to products it would be a killer

Last year Amazon introduced a new product with a similar visual presentation:Interesting Finds.

This looks neat for affiliates

I only see the old wishlist lists.... logged in and don't see what you see. Hmm

@paisano Same here.

@paisano https://www.amazon.com/gp/regist... but "Your Idea List" is absent from mine. I see the other two tabs though. Must be a rolling upgrade.

@jthompson_ma @paisano May be they are launching the feature in phases

This could be a game changer if they support it / the creators the right way.

Just tried but I just can't seem to see much different between this and Wishlist. I mean the only thing different here is the ability to publish and share the link. I do see the potential though.

This is a resurrection of a feature that predates wishlist and registry. Customers created topic lists such as "must-haves for first time moms" or "outfit your shop on the cheap." Helpful lists could be favorited, and some featured Q&A with the author. The content was quality for its time but got limited exposure. Lists were accessed via "search for a list" or a "this item is featured on a list" bug on product listings. User experience notes from the shoppers who found the lists: confusion about review v list; if list writers were experts of some kind; when same item was "rated" differently on two lists. ***Interesting to see how Amazon handles (or doesn't) this time around.

Is this basically a registry?

It's kind of a shared shopping list

Good stuff

Interesting idea especially for affiliates. The heart/like aspect seems a little buggy as once I heart something, it doesn't appear in my Heart list. But still a cool find & something that could really change things up if it's fully supported...& you also included a nice list of books.

Look nice, only on amazon.com and not worldwide I guess

I wish you could earn money creating curated lists if people bought something via your link.

Sooo much like Kit. If they enable affiliate linking, I'll be making an Idea List for each of my tutorials. I started with this one: http://a.co/curHDP4. I see that they've also added features to user profiles and are allowing Enthusiast designations, allowing me to be "followed". Pretty cool.
