I'm a creator with a million ideas, and I'm always doing research to find my next big one. When I found Altar, I was quite simply mindblown. It's like discovering an AI plugin for my brain.

I'm proud to be able to hunt Altar today. What Nelson, Steve and their squad have created is the future.

I'll leave them to introduce it:

Steve Liu

@iampascio

As builders, there's nothing more rewarding than hearing that something we made actually clicks with someone like you always exploring, always creating. That’s exactly who we built Altar for.

Thank you for hunting us today and for believing in this vision. Let’s shape the future of creative thinking together 🧠✨

Pascio

@steve_liu11 It's an honor to help out! Finding good creative tools is hard in todays world. There are many, but none like Altar. Keep building!

NoteShell

@iampascio Is it like a automated AI Agent that helps you organize notes, images, links analyze them and then creating actionable steps?
Today I got Introduced to something new, I would like to see how this turns out in terms of AI Create Engine.

Allen Barth

@iampascio A great way to research comparison products/services for price points for a feasibility studies.

Randolph Zhang

@iampascio  @allenbarth That's what I'm doing with it too.

Christopher Nheu

@iampascio  @allenbarth

Yep this is a huge part of our intended workflow! You save images, links of the products (multi-modal) attach them to a prompt and you can use AI to summarize it into a comparison table. Soon you'll be able to extract full transcripts from Youtube videos and collate product reviews in a few clicks without watching a full 20 min video

Justin Tieu

This looks super interesting. Really looking forward to trying it out.

Have you thought about adding a way to import bookmarks from browsers? That could make it way easier to get started for potential power users.

Christopher Nheu
@justintieu Hey there Justin! Absolutely this is a key feature in our product roadmaps. We want to make it super easy get all your links into your knowledge base in one click. Thanks for the feedback
Sebastian Scheibe

Hey @justintieu , thanks for the feedback!

You’re absolutely right — bookmark import is on our roadmap and will be implemented via the Chrome extension.

Feel free to follow us on Twitter (https://x.com/altarcomputing) to stay updated.

We’d love to hear any other feature ideas you have!

Nika

So many possibilities within one tool + browser extension. Impressed me.
Any chance (for the future) to sign up with a Gmail account?

Nelson Zhang

@busmark_w_nika Thanks for the feedback Nika!

And yes, we're working on SSO with Gmail (especially since our browser extension is such a powerful component of our whole user experience) as well as other accounts - and will probably roll that out in the next few days!

Would love to hear any other wishlist features that we can get working on ASAP 😁

Nika

@nz_altar For now, it is all. How can I be notified that the Gmail sign-up option is available? :) I would like to test it then :)

Nelson Zhang

@busmark_w_nika We'll be posting product updates and feature releases on Twitter! You can follow us at https://x.com/altarcomputing

And can also DM us there in the future with any and all feedback, feature requests etc.

We'll get Gmail SSO implemented ASAP and let you know, looking forward to having you as an early user :)

Hi Product Hunt! I'm Nelson, founder at ALTAR. 👋

Our team has spent the last few months building the AI knowledge-base that we ourselves sorely needed, and we're excited to give you an early peek today!

As founders, designers, researchers, and engineers, we realized that sheer AI performance isn't the main issue - our own pain points were in all the time and effort spent steering the models toward our intentions.

It often involves a lot of hand-holding like:

- Multiple rounds of re-prompting 🔄

- Fine-tuning responses over and over ⏳

- Hunting down & copy-pasting references for context 🔍

Basically, new kinds of overhead that quickly add up. Vibe-coding and the like sounds great in theory, but do you want to be doing that for hours everyday? 😅

That's why we built ALTAR:

- ALTAR gathers inspiration and content, letting the most powerful models interact with your memory and understand your intentions. 🚀

- It's a place where your notes, bookmarks, and files come together to form a second brain 🧠 that helps you bring ideas to life.

Especially for creatives, we believe AI should shine during ideation and your thought process - but this is an ongoing journey that shouldn't be crammed into a chatbox.

Having myself worked on human-computer interaction at startups like Leap Motion and Midjourney, I've seen firsthand how challenging it is to get machines to truly understand what you want. 🤖

Generative AI feels like a sea change in how we interact with technology, but it's a messy process that takes exploration. I hope you'll enjoy trying out our vision of what that looks like!

Rohan Gayen

Interesting product. I have 2 questions

  1. "Autocomplete for your mind" autocompleting what? finishing random thoughts to make something productive or something else? Not clear to me.

  2. What is the price? Don't see anywhere in landing page.

Steve Liu

@admiralrohan Great question!
1. “Autocomplete for your mind” It means turning your scattered thoughts, notes, bookmarks, and ideas into something usable — like a brainstorm, draft, summary, or next step. Altar helps connect the dots between your inputs and generates meaningful output, so you can go from inspiration to creation without starting from scratch every time.

2. Pricing
We’re currently in early access, so everything is free to try for now! We're focused on gathering feedback from early users before introducing paid tiers. 😊

Hema Nath

This is super cool! As someone who runs an agency, I love when tools like this come out it saves us time and keeps things fun. You've made something that feels easy to use and not scary at all. Big congrats on the launch.

Just wondering can this work well for small teams with zero tech people?

Nelson Zhang
@hema_nath Hi Hema, agencies and small teams like yours are actually a perfect fit for what we're building :) We believe that interacting with AI should feel like an extension of your existing thought processes, not having to learn how to converse with some inscrutable black-box. So one of our biggest priorities is to build a UX that's familiar to what creatives already use, like moodboards and note-taking apps. Likewise, we've just started working on teams/collaboration functionality, in a way that hopefully will feel similar, but an upgrade to how teams like yours share creative WIP, organize assets/knowledge, brainstorm etc. Would love to also have you test and give us feedback on those features when they're ready!
Randolph Zhang

@hema_nath  @nz_altar Team collabration with Altar as a platform is also an important feature we are looking for.

Steve Liu

Join us in rethinking productivity, and let’s make the internet work for you—more organized, more creative, and way less overwhelming.

Desmond

Game-changer for knowledge management! Can it auto-tag saved links by topic? A daily digest of key insights would help users stay on top of their goals.

Nelson Zhang
@desmond_ren1 Hi Desmond, yes! When collecting anything, ALTAR auto-curates to existing Spaces you've created - or you can just dump everything in there first, and new Spaces will be suggested for you later on when certain patterns form in your knowledge base. This is how we save you the hassle of tagging / sorting all your notes and content by hand. And a daily feed of insights or relevant content is a great idea, we'll look into it for an upcoming release!
Natalia Eiriz

Looks like ALTAR is a game changer for anyone looking to streamline their creative process and stay organized. I love how it leverages AI to make finding and analyzing ideas faster and easier. This could seriously help reduce the mental clutter and boost productivity. Excited to give it a try!

Steve Liu

@natalia_eiriz Thanks so much! 🙌 . Would love to hear how it works for you once you’ve had a chance to try it out!

Pranay Bansal
Launching soon!

This is amazing! Great launch guys.

Christopher Nheu
@pranay12 thanks Pranay for the props and support!
Steve Liu

@pranay12 Thank you Pranay! Best of luck on your upcoming launch as well!🚀

NotionJourney

As a beginner digital creator, I’m always excited to explore new tools that support creativity and bring structure to the creative process. ALTAR looks incredibly interesting – and honestly, exciting! I really enjoy testing out new solutions that help manage the chaos of ideas and information I deal with daily.

This tool seems not only practical but also inspiring – something that could help shape the path I’m walking as a creator, not just organize my thoughts. I’m not a user of ALTAR yet, but I definitely plan to change that. I have high hopes for it and a strong feeling it could become a core part of my creative workflow.

Great job – rooting for the team and the future of this project!

Steve Liu

@notion_journey Thank you so much for the kind words! 🙏

We built ALTAR exactly with creators like you in mind—those navigating the chaos of ideas while trying to stay inspired and focused. Can’t wait for you to give it a try, and we’d love to hear how it fits into your creative journey once you do. 🙌

Jason Barmer

I was literally thinking yesterday how I wish I had a better "smart knowledge base" for all my notes, snippets, etc that AI could review and find the insights I need at the right time. Boom! Looks like this is what you did!

Christopher Nheu
@jasonbarmer thanks Jason. That’s exactly what Altar was designed for! We hope you enjoy using our web app and for more updates follow us on x.com/altarcomputing
Çağdaş Kurultay Kalkan

Hey ALTAR team,

Really like what you’re building! I did a few quick tests and it seems like it could be a great companion during the early stages of idea development. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves — keep it up! 🚀

Steve Liu

@ckurultaykalkan  Really appreciate that! We'd love to connect more—come hang out with us in Discord: https://discord.gg/NbMvR5J6

Jun Shen

I love the AI-driven insights! 😄

Steve Liu

@shenjun Haha, yes June. Only when they are relevant and in context. Can't wait to hear your experience with our product!

Cole

Awsome product Steve, congrts on the launch. Looks like we are launch day twins or something anyway, wishing you all the best.

Steve Liu

@afwcole Thanks Cole! Good luck on your launch as well!

Jaden Zane

It's truly mind-blowing. I've been searching for something like this for a while, and I'm so happy you finally built it. I can't wait to use it and become creative like never before. 😊

Christopher Nheu

@jaden_zane Hi Jaden! Thank you very much for the feedback! Out of curiosity what kind of creative tasks do you think you'd like to do with Altar?

Matt Maginley

So far I'm loving being able to sort tabs that I have open and organize them with projects. I am a visual person and need to see what I'm working with and be able to refer to it later. I'm just starting to understand how much ALTAR can organize. For example on video projects I need to bring in video, photos, quotes, audio clips, graphics and have all of that organized and arranged. Tha's one example , as I'm finding more.

Christopher Nheu

@matt_maginley Hi Matt, this is awesome feedback. Yes we actually started out with trying to solve tab manager, but we expanded into a fully multi-modal knowledge base (that includes links and much more). I'm curious what kind of tab manager (if any) you're using. Also what kind of video features would you like to see if you could upload videos? E.g. maybe transcripts search? or event being able to search for a visual frame in the video?

koki

Sounds like a game changer for creativity! Love it!

Steve Liu

Great question Koki!

ALTAR prioritizes content based on context, recency, and relevance to your past activity. it’s not just storing everything — it’s learning what matters most to you.

For example, if you revisit a topic, reference similar materials, or interact with related content, ALTAR will surface those insights more prominently. Over time, it builds a personalized knowledge base that gets better at anticipating your needs.

We’d love to hear your thoughts after trying it out — especially around how it feels for your creative flow or research workflow! 🚀

Jun Zhao

Congrats on the launch, Pascio! ALTAR sounds like a valuable tool for anyone looking to streamline their research process. Excited to see how this helps unleash creativity!

Christopher Nheu

@jun_zhao3 Thanks Jun! Would love to know how you'd incorporate Altar into your research process!

koki

Sounds amazing! How does ALTAR prioritize the content it learns from users?
