AI Product Hunter evaluates every products launched on Product Hunt every day.
The evaluations are shown as a ranking format.
Let's enjoy yet another ranking of Product Hunt!
Hello, Product Hunters!
I am Tokiya, CEO & founder of LastCapsule Inc.(1 person startup currently), living in Japan.
Today, I am excited to introduce "AI Product Hunter" to human product hunters!
## motivation
My first launch was a terrible experience. Though it took some amount of effort, the return was almost zero traffic and minus social proof.
The majority of makers may have had the same experiences, and many more will have similar experiences in the future.
AI Product Hunter is created for the better experience of the majority of makers by providing feedback and another chance of the race.
Also, it entertains Product Hunters by providing yet another ranking of the products.
AI Product Hunter is created for making Product Hunt a more exciting place by such ways.
## about evaluation
The understanding and evaluation are generated using GenAI(gpt4o).
If you are interested in the evaluation process, please see here.
https://github.com/lastcapsule/a...
I think you'll be surprised that it makes more sense than you thought it would. Probably.
## for makers
- We have already reviewed products launched after January 1, 2024, so if you have launched in 2024, it would be helpful if you could comment on whether its understanding and evaluation of your product is correct and valid.
I hope this launch passes the 20% luck test 🙏
(But even if it becomes non-featured 80%, I can enjoy what kind of evaluation it gives to itself.)
Though I was busy and couldn't notice, "Best of Aug 8, 2024" is ready in AI Product Hunter.
And It evaluate it self #6 of the 177.
https://www.ai-producthunt.com/?...
How do you think? Is it overrated or underrated?
And it evaluated itself "subscription model" even it is written that it is free.
Just a thought. Do you use this even if it is something to subscribe?
If you are a very time wealthy Product Hunter, I'd appreciate very much for the reaction.
Some duplicate of ChatGPT ranked #3 with 5 upvotes (https://www.ai-producthunt.com/d...). Shouldn't the evaluation criteria fake product have been triggered? Otherwise, I really like the approach! Great job :)
@laurenz_sommerlad
Thank you for the comment!
>Some duplicate of ChatGPT ranked #3 with 5 upvotes Shouldn't the evaluation criteria fake product have been triggered?
I'm glad you watched the ranking today.
Well, ChatGPT itself is "true product" at first.
The problem of this post is someone who is probably unrelated has claimed to be the maker.
I think this kind of post should be eliminated by the moderation team of ProductHunt.
But if the products like this increase, it is worth consideration to implement the function to filter such products in AI Product Hunter.
@allan_ryl
Thank you for the comment!
> Just found out our website Aiswers.com were rated by AI as number one on Aug.2.
Congratulations to you too!

Congrats on the launch! I had been thinking about making something like this -- specifically using AI to review the launches of the day. Glad somebody made it happen!
@jack_michalak
Thank you very much for your comment.
> I had been thinking about making something like this -- specifically using AI to review the launches of the day
What a coincidence! Hope you enjoy this as you imagined.
And if you have any advice, I'd appreciate if you let me know!
This is a great use case for gen AI, and I'm not just saying that because it gave my product a glowing review 😆 There are so many awesome looking apps on product hunt that it's honestly overwhelming, I'll definitely be using this as a shortcut to check out apps that I'm interested in.
One thing that will make it super useful is if you can aggregate rather than always going by a single day. Seeing the rankings by month would be awesome.
@leemager
Thank you for your comment!
> There are so many awesome looking apps on product hunt that it's honestly overwhelming
Definitely. So I have a little agree to current "featured" system on PH to a certain extent.
> I'll definitely be using this as a shortcut to check out apps that I'm interested in.
I'm glad if you think it's useful. Yes, AI Product Hunter is also designed for such purpose!
Great initiative, @tokiyaabe! It's always frustrating for makers to put in so much effort and not see the results they hoped for. AI Product Hunter seems like a fantastic way to provide actionable feedback and enhance the overall experience for everyone on PH. The idea of using GenAI for evaluations is intriguing and should add a fresh perspective to our products.
I'm curious to see how your evaluation process shapes up against traditional methods. It's great that you're open to feedback from those who've launched in 2024 – this could lead to some valuable insights!
Wishing you the best of luck on this launch—let's hope you pass that 20% luck test! 🚀 Your passion for improving the community is palpable and truly commendable. Keep making PH an exciting place for all makers!
@ema_elisi
Thank you for your warm feedback!
> let's hope you pass that 20% luck test
[FYI]
Featured or non-featured is determined at the time of launch and it is usually never changed once after it is determined.
(This is what I didn't know at my first launch...)
The idea of re-evaluating products and giving them another chance is fantastic! How does AI Product Hunter balance first impressions with potential long-term value of a product?
Good luck with the launch!
@ramya_pk
Thank you for the comment!
> How does AI Product Hunter balance first impressions with potential long-term value of a product
Currently AI Product Hunter evaluation does not explicitly balances those aspects.
But its current major evaluation items could be classified as follows.
- technical innovation -> first impressions
- conceptual innovation -> first impressions
- problem solver -> first impressions / long-term
- entertainment value -> first impressions / long-term
- business potential -> long-term
- social impact -> long-term
It seems balanced for me from the perspective you commented. How do you think?

Hey Tokiya,
How does the AI handle the diverse range of products and industries, and are there any plans to allow users to input feedback directly into the system?
Congrats on the launch!
@kyrylosilin
Hello Kyrylo,
Thank you for congratulating the launch!
> How does the AI handle the diverse range of products and industries
Currently it handles all at the same way.

> are there any plans to allow users to input feedback directly into the system
Thank you for the feature suggestions!
It might be implemented after it become popular.
Currently I'm willing to collect feedbacks on ProductHunt and inquiry comments and github issues.
Hey @tokiyaabe! This is such an innovative idea and a fantastic way to engage the Product Hunt community! The fact that you're using GenAI to provide evaluations is impressive and shows a strong understanding of both makers' needs and the potential of AI.
Many of us have faced the struggle of launching and not getting the visibility we hoped for, so having a tool like AI Product Hunter can really help bridge that gap. I love the idea of providing feedback and creating a fun ranking system to keep things interesting!
I'm curious to see how it evolves and what kind of insights it will generate for us. Definitely looking forward to more updates and evaluations—keep up the inspiring work! 🚀
Wishing you all the best for this launch and hope it surpasses that 20% luck test!
Hello @ezshine !
Thank you for your warm feedback!
It seems it surely passed 20% luck test and I'm really enjoying communicating with other Product Hunters! Great experience that I was looking for at my first launch.
This is a fantastic initiative, Tokiya! 🎉 It’s great to see you sharing your journey and insights from your first launch. Many makers can relate to the challenges you faced, and it’s inspiring to know that AI Product Hunter aims to improve the experience on Product Hunt for everyone.
The evaluation process utilizing GenAI sounds intriguing, especially for those of us who want constructive feedback and a chance to learn from our launches. I’m excited to see how it can provide insights and perhaps even spark some discussions among the community!
Makers, if you’ve launched in 2024, I encourage you to engage and share your feedback on the evaluations. This could be a great opportunity for all of us to refine our products and understand what resonates with the Product Hunt audience.
Best of luck with this launch, Tokiya! I’m looking forward to trying out AI Product Hunter and seeing the rankings unfold. Let’s keep making Product Hunt an exciting place to be!

> I’m excited to see how it can provide insights and perhaps even spark some discussions among the community!
Me too! I think there are many critical opinions about this products but I want to enjoy such discussions!
> Makers, if you’ve launched in 2024, I encourage you to engage and share your feedback on the evaluations.
Thank you for recommendation!
I think the prompts and evaluation process could be better and better and I'd appreciate if the makers help it!
@benithemaker
Thank you for the comment! This time I'm lucky to become 20% featured.
> I wonder if it'll evaluate itself, too?
That's right!
Here's the evaluation!
https://www.ai-producthunt.com/?...
Kudos for creating a daily ranking format for new product launches. Does the evaluation process take into account different categories or focus solely on overall ranking?
@vid_monials
Thank you very much for Kudos!
Currently, it evaluates product in the same way.
https://github.com/lastcapsule/a...
(So it could be said that "focus solely on overall ranking".)
It would be helpful to see some user reviews or ratings alongside the rankings. This could provide more context and help users make better decisions about which products to check out.
@christian_onochie

I think so too!
