Hi fellow makers,
I was trying to estimate how much it will cost to use the OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Groq, Perplexity, DeepSeek API, and then I created this simple calculator for myself and for others.
Hope it's helpful.
Cheers! 🥂
This is fantastic! It’s exactly what every developer using LLM APIs has been hoping for. Just wondering does it also consider system prompt tokens or only the ones assigned by users?
Just yesterday I was looking to understand pricing difference between Open AI models, as compared to Google Gemini. I couldn't find anything as simple as this app. Huge props to maker, it really fills a gap 👏

How reliable is the calculator over time? Do you have a way to keep it updated with price changes or new context limits from API providers?
Does the calculator differentiate between models with varying output lengths, like GPT-4 and Gemini or does it assume a fixed completion size?

Some APIs like OpenAI now offer function calls and tool usage are you planning to factor those into the pricing breakdown too.
Great potential. Is Claude's token pricing calculated separately for input and output or is it bundled together as a total cost?

This is great!
What a great idea and smooth execution. Is DeepSeek's pricing based on character count or tokens?
This is incredibly helpful! It saved me from having to go through all those documents manually again.
It’s such a handy tool. Does it take into account the context window limits for each model or is that something users have to figure out on their own?

Minimal, clean design. I also like the prompt caching checkbox.
