Anyone here using a Pitman schedule? Let’s talk time off planning!

For those running 12-hour shifts on a Pitman schedule (2-on, 2-off, 3-on, etc.), you know how tricky it can be to balance rotating shifts with planned leave. We’ve been exploring ways to combine this kind of scheduling with actiPLANS, and it turns out—it can work pretty well!

How to combine Pitman schedules with actiPLANS:

  • Use actiPLANS PTO blackout days for the most critical shifts to prevent disruptions

  • Set notifications and reminders about planned and upcoming leaves and state holidays

  • Monitor leave time and balances reports to manage PTO usage efficiently

  • Encourage open communication between employees and managers about time off

  • Provide training for managers on handling workload and time-off planning

Let me know what do you think about it!
