I use Acompli for Exchange mail and Mailbox for Gmail. Fantastic for work mail. My biggest problem: your gestures for archive/delete/schedule are the opposite! I swipe left in Acompli to archive, but right in Mailbox to archive. My muscle memory needs help!
I've been using the Focused Inbox feature for the last couple of weeks. It's much better than Priority Inbox and only sends me notifications when I receive an email from a person or important institution like a bank or local government office. You can help to train the algorithm, too, but I've found it to be near-perfect from the start. On a small screen it can be overwhelming to deal with a bulging inbox. Focused Inbox solves that by showing you the email you really need to read and might want to respond to on the go. As an avid user of Mailbox, I thought I'd never switch, but after a few days Accompli was in my dock.
Full disclosure: A friend invited me to the iOS Beta for Accompli. However, as much as I like the guy, he couldn't force me to change my mobile client unless I really liked it.
@ricburton Hi Richard - Man, this is awesome of you to write. Really appreciate it. We ran a longer beta than normal to tune the algorithm for Focused. Glad you're finding it's working for you!
@joelblackmore no, we don't schedule TODOs. We've integrated calendaring, files, and a more intelligent take on contacts to give professionals a more productive email experience. Give it a shot!
been using acompli on iOS for a while. My most favorite of the email apps so far, but still not quite what I think an email app needs to get to. Waiting for someone to finally get a system to combine email, calendar and tasks into one cohesive system.
Love Acompli & agree that there is something to be said about cleverly integrating tasks or to-dos, especially through partnering/APIs. Starting with calendar first is the right approach though
