It is my absolute pleasure to introduce you to the all-new 1Password 8 for iOS and Android.
We went back to the drawing board with 1Password 8, talking to customers about how they use 1Password, and what they use it for. Then we used what we learned to rebuild 1Password 8 from scratch with a relentless focus on helping you get those things done quickly and easily. (If you’re interested in a deeper dive into the backstory, we’ve talked a lot about this in recent episodes of our podcast. Just search your podcast app for Random but Memorable.)
The new 1Password 8 for iOS and Android shares the same technical foundation as 1Password for Windows, Mac, and Linux. That allowed us to create the most powerful experience we've ever built for phones and tablets (using frameworks native to iOS and Android).
Here are the highlights:
- Completely redesigned. It starts with a new, customizable home screen. Keep recently edited items, favorites, and other sections at the top of the screen, move them around, or hide them altogether. It's completely up to you what you see here.
- Pinned fields. Now you can pin individual fields within your 1Password items – the door code to your gym, the one-time code for your Twitter login, or your debit card PIN – right to your home screen for fast access.
- Watchtower in your pocket. The Watchtower dashboard is now mobile. It includes your glanceable, shareable security score so you always know where you stand, and actionable alerts that make it easy to stay on top of your personal security. (I may or may not have gotten in the habit of trying to boost my score while I'm waiting on laundry. 😊)
- Smarter autofill. You can now autofill logins, payment cards, and other info into Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet, Microsoft Edge, Brave, DuckDuckGo, and Vivaldi on Android. On iOS, access all of 1Password right from Safari – including autofilling all the things like one-time codes and using Face ID or Touch ID to unlock the extension.
We also optimized every corner of the app for speed: load times, navigating, and search are faster than ever. I could go on and on, but in the spirit of hunting, I'll let you explore on your own.
One thing to note: 1Password 8 is an entirely new app – meaning 1Password 7 will not automatically update to 1Password 8. To experience 1Password 8, download it directly from the App Store or Google Play Store.
And with this release, 1Password 8 is now available everywhere: on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and in your browser. No matter what device you use, you'll always get the same great experience.

@mrrooni Keen to try it out! How come you made it a separate app bundle instead of updating v7?
@mrrooni @michel_fathallah 1Password 8 completes our transition away from standalone vaults to our 1Password.com service. We didn’t want to remove functionality from anyone, though, so we published v8 as a new download to keep their data and experience intact. Additionally, the UI and UX has changed enough that we didn’t want to force everyone to find a whole new way of using the app until they are ready. We think it’s vastly better, but change is hard for people. iOS updates apps for people automatically, and seeing an app you rely on significantly change all the sudden, and having to hunt around and figure out how to accomplish the task you came to the app for can be pretty disruptive.

have been using your product for several years now and I don't intend to stop. In my opinion, you are the best on the market! Upvote!
RIP 1Password. Never thought this day would come. I've been a happy customer for the past 10 years, but not everything needs to be a subscription. Will need to look at Bitwarden in the coming years when 1Password 7 stops working.
