AI in your IDE (e.g. Cursor) vs AI in your terminal (Claude Code) — what’s the better flow?
... Claude Code handles the "thinking" work - architectural decisions, complex implementations. Cursor handles the "typing" work - completing patterns, fixing syntax. Comment from Daniel Bernasconi(@daniel_bernasconi): @chrismessina  have you tried Claude Code? Do you think Warp is a valid alternative? I know they are a bit different, but with the weekly limits and all coming to CC, I better prepare and incorporate new tech "under my belt".. Cheers Comment from Aaron O'Leary(@aaronoleary): @malithmcrdev  Why so? Comment from ...

Key takeaways from our 2025 Product of the Month launch | Cursor for Slides
... replies, retweets and DMs to harvest the language your audience actually uses. 2. Rapid-fire experiments We never waited for launch day. Instead, we treated our entire buildup as a real-time lab: Email CTA swaps ( Try Chronicle Pro vs. See Cursor in action ) Slack micro-polls in our beta channel ( Which benefit would you tweet? ) Tweet thread formats (numbered list vs

Coding with an AI IDE (visual) vs AI CLI (Terminal), what's better?
... product teams that focus on the agent loop, tool calling, management of context and subagents can move faster and I think that's why Claude Code and Amp have the edge right now with Gemini-CLI also catching up. VS Code forks start with a huge surface area that comes with all kinds of scope creep challenges. This helped Cursor et al to get started and onboard users fast because the user experience is largely backwards compatibility. It meets people ... ... richer UI will fair better longer-term. So basically what we're looking at is a reimaginging of what an IDE would look like, similar to what the Browser Company did with @Dia Browser . Comment from vishal pandey(@vshpandey96

Cursor: AI Code Editor – A Real VS Code Alternative?
... Been checking out Cursor, an AI code editor that deeply integrates AI into your workflow. Think natural language coding, smart predictions, and asking your codebase questions. It's trying to push AI further than, say, VS Code (even with Copilot). I'm curious: How has Cursor's AI experience been for you compared to your current setup? Does a dedicated AI-first editor like this feel like a significant leap? Let's discuss! Comment from Abe Qarm(@abe_qarm ...

Cursor or Claude Code?
... where I'm ok to let it handle specifics. Hope that helps! Comment from Matthew Ferrin(@matthew_ferrin): @hi_caicai  I think you re right, and there are some workarounds. Claude Code now opens a temporary tab in VS Code with a clean diff in the UI, which helps. One drawback is that it collapses terminal output, so you have to keep toggling it open and back. Eventually it would be nice if it wrote that output to temporary ... ... cursor with Claude Sonnet 4, and it's really good compared to other models. But I am hitting the rate limit frequently and can't use it anymore. I cancelled my subscription with Cursor and am looking for alternatives

I vibe-coded an app that turns any recipe link into a nutrition label with Gemini + VS Code
... recently spent a month vibe-coding a web app that turns any recipe into a detailed nutrition label. My entire workflow was a loop of prompting Gemini, pasting the code into VS Code, fixing what broke, and repeating that x1000 times. I know about tools like Cursor & Replit, but I stuck with this manual setup since I'm more comfortable with it. No idea if it s the right way, but I just ran with it and got this ...

some thoughts after my first day using windsurf. spoiler: i like the icons
... been using @Spacemacs for a few years now. Recently, I started using @VS Code to "see what I was missing". I liked that linters and such seemed to work a bit smoother out of the box. I kept hearing: VSCode

Claude 3.5 vs. Claude 3.7: Fresh Test
... super cool! Comment from Kay Kwak(@kay_arkain): Claude 3.7 is definitely groundbreaking and impressive, but I believe Claude can go even further and evolve even more! Let's go Comment from Christian Safka(@christian_safka): From testing 3.7 vs 3.5 in Cursor Agent, I've found it's a lot better at estimating when it has enough context to implement or it needs to go check more files first. Looking forward to trying it some more Comment from Cole ... ... these two together as Trickle seems to have their own Chat AI Assistant. Comment from Victoria Wu(@victoria_wu): @andres_vlaeminck  It s interesting to hear that you found the 3.5 version to be more proactive in offering alternative

Why is Cursor so much more popular than Windsurf?
... editor journey has been: 1. Tried out Github copilot in VS Code. Loved it. 2. Then tried out @Cursor after @bernatfortet kept talking about it. Immediately switch to Cursor. 3. Then tried out @Windsurf after @lagap discovered it. Immediately fell in love and switched. Anecdotally, everyone is talking about Cursor. And no one is really talking about Windsurf. On Product Hunt, Cursor has 845 Shoutouts. Windsurf has two? In my experience, Windsurf is the leader at the moment with ... ... cascade/iterative prompting. Comment from Bernat Fortet Unanue(@bernatfortet): @andyzg3  a bit frustrated with Cursor's latest updates so I gave windsurf another try. The onboarding issue is still there. Are you importing VS

Alternatives to Squarespace? 🤔
... helping a friend set up a new simple site. She uses Squarespace which is both expensive and not the best, in my opinion. So, I was thinking. What do you recommend as an alternative? Comment from Timothy Bramlett(@timothybramlett): I highly recommend Cloudflare Pages. Comment from Simon (@simonas_kauzonas): Wix, WordPress, Webflow, depending on needs and skill level. Comment from Andr J(@sentry_co): GitHub pages. free, open source. easy to build with Jekyll and AI editors like cursor ...
