What is the most underrated growth hack for Product Hunt launch day?
... Personally, I believe (and still stand by it) that there are no shortcuts to success, only well-thought-out and applied tactics. What marketing tactics for a successful product hunt launch have worked for you or grabbed your attention immediately? Here are a few I ve noticed: Live-streaming on launch day via X and YouTube. Getting hunted by an internal PH team member e.g., Rajiv hunted quite a few. Inviting as many makers with large followings to your team ... ... with native teaser pages ? Comment from sania khan(@sania_khan10): One tactic that really works for a successful Product Hunt launch is actually engaging with the community. Surprisingly, most people don t do this so when you do, it immediately

Aqua Voice vs Wispr Flow
... didn't quite click for me initially. I wanted to start regularly using voice dictation, but it wasn't as seamless of an adoption as I was hoping for. When I switched to Aqua Voice, I was immediately sold though. Three things really stand out to me: It's extremely fast. The streaming mode makes editing as I go super easy. I love being able to say stuff like " let's actually re-do the second sentence in the first ... ... Very cool! I actually was not aware of that one, so I'll have to check it out. Any particular features that stand out, or any particular reason you chose that one over others? Comment from vishal pandey(@vshpandey96

Should you offer free access when launching a paid product on Product Hunt?
... anyway. But I also see the argument for temporary free access during launch. Product Hunt users want to actually try what they're upvoting. How can they give meaningful feedback or become advocates if they hit a paywall immediately? Some makers offer special promo codes just for the PH community. Then there's the middle ground - a limited free trial that gives people enough time to evaluate during the launch buzz, but converts them to paid after. I've seen ... ... successful launches using all three approaches, but I'm curious what actually works better for building genuine momentum versus

I vibe-coded an app that turns any recipe link into a nutrition label with Gemini + VS Code
... recently spent a month vibe-coding a web app that turns any recipe into a detailed nutrition label. My entire workflow was a loop of prompting Gemini, pasting the code into VS Code, fixing what broke, and repeating that x1000 times. I know about tools like Cursor & Replit, but I stuck with this manual setup since I'm more comfortable with it. No idea if it s the right way, but I just ran with it and got this ... ... next? Personal challenges so far: Getting transcripts reliably from YouTube is also a pain in the ass. I originally obtained them using a library with multiple proxies, then it didn't work for a while and I had to immediately

Jots - new feature post-launch and roadmap 🚀
... Jots had a great launch on Monday, receiving plenty of support and 150 new users were willing to give it a shot! I was asked to delete a featured launch, but it's actually missing the point.
... months would prevent their launch from being featured. They wanted a guaranteed feature, so they hoped removing the previous record would help. The person seemed to be from an agency, and while they offered verification, I couldn't immediately confirm their direct ties to the product team itself. This isn't the first time a maker team has discovered I've hunted their product. Usually, the reaction is surprise and excitement especially if the product was unexpectedly featured! My immediate

Tactical Prompting Tips Explicitly instruct Bolt with phrases like, "Do not make code changes," during brainstorming sessions to prevent it from immediately jumping into code. Questions about PH Forum Delays
... write them My comments show up days later Today I got a notification for a comment someone left on my post 5 days ago! Each piece of feedback is precious, and I felt bad not being able to respond immediately Questions: Why is there such a time delay? Is there some kind of moderation happening? Apps that push you to create?
... Last week, I downloaded and purchased @AgBr after seeing it on the homepage. Its design and super specific goal just immediately clicked with me. I love black & white photography, and this was a really interesting and approachable way to experiment with it; even though I've never been much of a photographer myself. How (not) to gather first users when you are an unknown brand. May be helpful to new product makers

Not offering a free trial version and immediately asking for payment If you do all of these things at once, it leaves a very bad impression. Recently, I wanted to try a tool, and accepted the terms of use, but couldn t cancel the trial after submitting ... ... stuff like that honestly that's a straight turn off and most of the times an obvious one I would prefer to help out someone who openly says this is an early version of the product yada yada vs

Build an audience first, or launch and grow later?
... when we go live, we re not just launching a product we re delivering a solution that an engaged, invested, and eager audience is already excited about. Comment from Vishal (@vishal_rayarao): @nuellaugochi  Thank you, looking into it immediately Comment from Vishal (@vishal_rayarao): Such a great discussion! I ve seen both approaches work, but it really depends on the product and market. Building an audience first is ideal if you're creating something new and need validation ... ... your products TG isn't that audience then it won't really help you. I needed to localize my app soon, and the only alternative was to pay $150+ to services like Localise*com. How hard could it be?
