Introducing Byterover - Memory Layer For Coding Agents on AI IDEs like Cursor, and Windsurf
... everyone, I'm Andy, founder and builder of Byterover. Today, I and my team are launching our new solutions for AI coding. It started with a problem that I experience in my daily coding on Cursor as a senior developer. I have to teach them same coding patterns and logic all over again when I switch my projects. Therefore, I think about an idea of a memory retrieval system that allows me to create, retrieve those coding memories ...

Hey I'm building a new system for you to retrieve memories of AI coding agents
... code on Cursor, Windsurf,... all the time, what do you think if you will be able to save what you teach your agents the whole time and bring them across different projects, or to your dev teams. I'm Andy, the founder and builder of Byterover. We are building a self-improving memory layer for coding agents on different AI IDE. As a developer, I have been obsessed over how to code more efficiently. That's why I started Byterover ... ... faster and smarter. We are about to launch the product this weekend. Here is our prelaunch . We'd love to exchange different ideas with you on the launch tomorrow. Happy to receive your support! Comment from duy anh nguyen(@andy

What do you take into account when you hire talent or choose co-founder?
... rephrase and tweak it a bit. My question was: "Why is it so difficult to get a remote job offered by a U.S. company?" Many responses mentioned factors like: cultural background, time zone differences, geographical proximity, U.S. vs. EU law, optimising costs (e.g. instead of hiring from the EU, they hire from Asia). I want to look at this from the perspective of HR or those involved in hiring. How do you approach to hiring process or teaming up with ... ... founders when there is distance? Why is Cursor so much more popular than Windsurf?
... editor journey has been: 1. Tried out Github copilot in VS Code. Loved it. 2. Then tried out @Cursor after @bernatfortet kept talking about it. Immediately switch to Cursor. 3. Then tried out @Windsurf after @lagap discovered it. Immediately fell in love and switched. Anecdotally, everyone is talking about Cursor. And no one is really talking about Windsurf. On Product Hunt, Cursor has 845 Shoutouts. Windsurf has two? In my experience, Windsurf is the leader at the moment with ... ... weeks) didn't try Windsurf while on Cursor. But once I started, the quality and UX difference is apparent to me. Windsurf maybe should do more messaging that will directly compare Cursor to Windsurf just like the Mac vs

How did you get your first job in tech?
... promoted into product management. The key learning for me was the importance of getting real-world experience asap (ideally before or during college) and building good relationships (by doing great work) with your teammates. At InstantAction I met Andy Yang who eventually recruited me to join another startup in San Francisco. My life changed after that ...
