At least in the very beginning, it's super important. People need to know you exist and sometimes connections and word-of-mouth can draw attention to your startup much faster.

It strongly depends on the type of business. The further away from B2C, the less important it is.

@zoia_stetsenko In your case, it is still important. It is not as important at the enterprise level. There, other laws and processes come into effect.

@aanshakov oh, that's an interesting opinion, thanks! what do you think, for b2b products, when the target audience is software development companies, how much should we focus on building networking in such cases?

Your network can give you an unfair advantage with distribution and visibility when you're trying to get the product to go from 0 to 1.

If you are able leverage that network to achieve distribution for your product, then it's incredibly powerful.

@kkavita Yes, that definitely makes sense. Thanks Kavita!

I think a strong network definitely boost the process of attracting early users. Slack's founder, for example, has already launched successful products before Slack and has deep connections in Silicon Valley, which powerfully promote Slack in some ways.

@jc_mindverse it seems that networking is a separate stage of work and not the easiest... Thanks Joe!

As everyone is saying, super important for the success of your startup but I've realized the importance of having other founders/entrepreneurial people in my network too. Being a solo founder, it's nice to have that network you can tap into and not feel so alone!
