I'm compiling a list of all the feedback I've gotten from my launch of Breveto. I have a planned break coming up in a few days, which I hope to clear my mind and gain a fresh perspective. Once I'm back, it's straight back to development!

I’m curious about this as well. I few years ago I took my first app off of the App Store because it wasn’t getting any sales. Nowadays I wonder if I had left it there, would it have have grown over so much time. I suppose any revenue, even if it’s small is better than no revenue. Assuming your product brings value, isn’t losing money, and isn't leeching time off of projects that will do...

Personally I love it. As an app developer it allows users to demo your app and see the value of it, while also allowing you to gain traction with lots of downloads. I've tried selling my apps with a paid model, but they always perform better when I convert to freemium.

I've been wondering the same thing. Ended up choosing Sunday based on the Product Hunt launch guide. Hopefully it's the right call...

The amount of development needed to get to a base starting point that somebody would actually use.

A few years ago I tried launching my app ColorSlurp in the middle of the day. I didn't know what I was doing, and it got a staggering 8 upvotes and disappeared forever. Later on somebody else hunted it and it became #4 product of the day. Live and learn lol

Super cool website! I'd personally give it some type of background image to give it a splash of color. Also, when you click in the search field the "Search protocols" label gets cut of.

I'm working on getting a last minute update done for my app before launching! Probably going to have to work though the weekend to get it done...

Nice! I have a similar story. I got into computers around the age of 12 initially making silly videos. Over time I become fascinated with 3d animation and motion graphics, then I went into a video game development kick, until I found myself loving software development. I've been developing software for my own company ever since then, but all of those other hobby skills have become invaluable...

I still mostly use google for basic questions or research. It's still much faster and more accurate.

"Reword this:" Short and simple. A lot of times I'm brain storming ideas for content, and that helps me figure out different ways to say something I'm not entirely sure how to yet.

Usually it starts out with my own problems. Every app I've built has come from a personal annoyance or frustration that I just couldn't find a solution for. Then, over time users start chiming in with their feedback and suggestions, and the apps evolve into something bigger and better! User feedback is definitely the most valuable insight for me once I've built a product.

I write down one or two simple tasks that I want to get done, then go take a break for a while. Usually when I return, I feel more motivated to tackle the task at hand since I've had time to consider it and it's no longer as daunting.
