Most AI Apps are overhyped and I never use them. Basically just a GPT Wrapper, so why not just use ChatGPT or related software.

Thatâs a super important conversation and Iâd say as someone who leans more liberal, I see IP as necessary, but something that should be carefully balanced to encourage innovation and fairness. On one hand, we absolutely need creators to retain rights over their work. If we want a healthy creative ecosystem, whether in art, tech, writing, music, people need to feel their effort and originality...

I think it really depends, itâs hard to give a one-size-fits-all answer. If we're talking about entrepreneurship or building a startup, then no, you definitely donât need a degree. Same goes for fast-evolving fields like marketing or design â youâll often learn more by doing. That said, I wouldnât underestimate university either. I once heard someone say, âUniversity isnât for learning, itâs for...
Is a university degree still worth it if you're building a business?

Iâd say itâs 70% marketing, 30% product, at least in the early days. Later on, the product has to improve because people wonât stick around otherwise. But at the beginning, most users are just happy the product exists and solves something for them, even if itâs not perfect yet. Without marketing, theyâd never even find it in the first place.
Which is more important: making a great product or doing effective marketing?

Love this question, Aaron! For me, itâs not one specific pain point right now, itâs more the feeling that I want to do everything at once. There are so many moving parts in building a startup that itâs hard to slow down and stay focused. Itâs like youâre juggling 10 tasks while also trying to invent 3 new balls to throw in the air. What helps me (at least most days) is setting really simple...

Subscription vs Lifetime Plans â what do you prefer (and why)?
Every time I try out a new app or SaaS tool, I go straight to the pricing page, even if I donât plan to buy or subscribe. Iâm just curious to see how much they thinks itâs worth. Most products still stick with the good old subscription model, which makes sense, it's reliable, predictable, and aligns with ongoing costs. But more and more apps are starting to offer a lifetime option as well, and...

It depends on why you created the app. If you want to make money with the app, then yes, this would be the greatest measure of success. BUT and there is a big "but", making money on what costs. You could trick people with good marketing to buying a bad product, like it happened with me many times, where I would purchase a product and it turns out it is not as I expected. Then you would make...

Like you mentioned Hacker News is a very goodly. There are also some sub Reddits, like side-projects, one can use to launch their product.

Thanks for the insights and congrats on the launch. For the little effort you put in, I think this is a solid result. Maybe I would excepted a little bit more too, but like @busmark_w_nika said, PH is more about visibility and over the next few days you will surely get some more visitors to the site.

Vibe Coded Apps & Security Risks
I got caught up reading a thread on IndieHackers about security issues in vibe-coded apps, and honestly, it kinda blew my mind.Apparently, a guy named Leo was building in public, launching his product, and gaining traction, until people started hacking his app just for fun. I think he had to take it offline because of critical vulnerabilities. And he's not alone. Some vibe coders have so little...

Love the intuitive and minimalistic design! Really appreciate how you can just dive right in without the usual hassle of endless sign-ups and onboarding questions. Super straightforward and makes the whole experience feel seamless.

Iâve noticed the same issue with comments not showing up or getting notifications super late. Thought I was just missing replies, but turns out I had to manually go back and check discussions to find responses I never got notified about. Definitely something that could be improved. The missing search function for discussions is also a big one. Iâve had moments where I wanted to reference a post...

I actually used Copilot first before trying Cursor. When I switched, I immediately noticed how much better the overall experience was. Cursor just writes and analyzes code in a way that feels more intuitive and helpful for my projects. Also, the way it integrates AI suggestions directly into the workflow feels smoother compared to Copilot. Copilot is great, but for me, Cursor just feels like it...
