Routine.co, funded by Y Combinator, is a relatively young product that shows immense potential. Despite its early-stage hiccups like a crippled UI for 'SendTo' on iOS and missing key features, the platform offers an appealing promise. One such anticipated feature is automated task scheduling, which has been announced by the company as "coming soon." This means users will be able to schedule tasks automatically (for instance, scheduling Task Z for June). Currently, the use of Routine is only available via waitlists. Despite these initial growing pains, it stands out for its combination of daily planning and note-taking functionalities, all presented in a simple and attractive design. The journal function is particularly impressive. It provides a retrospective view, serving in part as a diary. At the moment, the platform leans more towards consumer use rather than professional applications. For instance, integrating the Outlook calendar from my company is a roundabout process, involving published read-only calendars with several hours of delay. However, I am confident that these issues will be addressed over time. I use the product within its current limitations and look forward to utilizing it more as it continues to improve. A notable feature is the ability to quickly assign notes and tasks to the appropriate place using the command line. A seemingly small detail I appreciate is that even headings function as categorization tags. For example, a page titled "Project X" with the headings "Preparation" and "Execution" can accommodate a task with the command line input "Task Y in Project X/Execution," all powered by an auto-complete function. In conclusion, Routine.co is a very promising project, and I hope the team continues to develop and improve it. I eagerly await the upcoming features, particularly the automated task scheduling. I look forward to seeing its evolution and how it matures to meet the needs of its users.
I believe I've tried all the new calendars on the market (Amie, Cron, VimCal etc.) and Routine is by far the most beautiful and well crafted of all. Actually one of the most elegant products I've tried in a very very long time. And judging from their roadmap, it's going to be a killer all-in-one app.
Routine is the new Notion. Nothing less. Yes it is still in beta but the approach is so revolutionary it will take over the world :)
I recently started using the Routine and I have been blown away by its functionalities. The app seamlessly combines a calendar with tasks and notes, making it an all-in-one productivity tool. The interface is clean and intuitive and its design the best by far. I believe I've tried them all. Long story short, I can't live without it already.
Routine's approach is mind blowing and really well done. Great design, UX and feature set though some things are missing like Android, references etc. But everything seems to be on the roadmap. A few bugs remain as well but the team seems to be nearing a 1.0 version.
Amazing product that I highly recommend. So beautiful, combines calendar, tasks & notes so that I don't need to 3 tools now. Oh and the dashboard functionality is just incredible. Still a few bugs here and there but it has become a lot more stable in the past 6 months. The new iOS app is also gorgeous!
I've been asked to share my feelings about Routine and I can honestly say that this product should have been invited years ago. It is so obvious to have all your tasks & notes next to your calendar that it blowns my mind that nobody thought about it before. I've got to give it to the team though because the execution is almost flawless. There are still a few bugs but the app is still in beta and the community is super active.
