I’m Tad, the solo founder of RankedVote. Thank you in advance for the feedback, suggestions, and everything else to come in this thread (and a huge shout out to @katmanalac for the hunt)! Here's a little bit about the thinking behind RankedVote…
On the surface, RankedVote is an online polling app that you can use with any group of people that’s trying to make a decision. People use it to decide roadmap prioritization, name teams, determine book club selections, pick charities to support, figure out vacation destinations…you name it.
But just beneath the surface, RankedVote is an interactive civic education in “ranked-choice voting” – the electoral system that’s now used in Maine, Alaska, and 50+ cities across the United States.
The (potentially crazy) idea is to familiarize millions of people with ranked-choice voting by bringing its use into everyday life. Familiarity increases support. Soon enough, the system gets adopted in more places.
And the thing is…it’s actually a really great way to make group decisions.
Compared to simple polling apps, RankedVote allows you to see what options really have the most support in the group – not just what’s supported by the most vocal minority.
So, I would love for you to check it out (that’s kinda the point of Product Hunt!) and share any feedback in the comments below!
Specifically, I’d love to know where you envision using this in your day-to-day life (work or home). RankedVote has found a wonderful baseline of support amongst election reformers and government groups running voter education campaigns. But, I’m really trying to figure out where this resonates in more mainstream or everyday uses.

@katmanalac@tadmilbourn Cool idea, even cooler mission. Getting more people familiar with (and demanding) ranked choice voting is one of the best ways to get out of the two party doom loop the United States is stuck in.
@jason_moreau Thanks Jason! I see someone has been reading their Drutman (great book, by the way). If you haven't already, check out The Politics Industry by Gehl and Porter. That's another book that's influenced me greatly. The thinking in that book shaped the reform that passed in Alaska. And that serves as the blueprint for the ballot measure in Nevada people are voting on right now.
SurveyMonkey - Like RankedVote but not as good. I love this type of decision framework, from elections to choosing what's for lunch, it's really effective.
