I’m the owner of a small family run business called Zenly Paws. We sell on Amazon. Fakespot has given our brand an F rating. We have not paid for any of our reviews. We naturally want real reviews to know if our product is good and serving a need for pet owners. We believe we may have some fraudulent one star reviews from competitors. Our sales which were gaining slowly have plummeted since Fakespot has given us this grade. Fakespot’s use of AI to check reviews authenticity is inaccurate and very damaging to small businesses. We ask that Fakespot be responsible with the power they have created by setting themselves up as an authority. Small companies like mine put everything they have into their business, sincerely trying to make products that others will benefit from. Large, powerful companies like Fakespot should not be allowed to utterly destroy honest, hard working people’s dreams.
It's one of the ways I use to check out products before purchasing. I use it first before bothering to read reviews. I compare to the stars give to the product. If all looks good then I read why customers didnt care for the product. It gives me what i need to make a decision to purchase. But now Fakespot is going away, I'm not happy. I want point out that a good grade on Fakespot does not mean I would make that purchase.
