I've watched it grow, and it's clear the team deeply understands the AI space and is passionate about building a genuinely useful, native macOS assistant. Its seamless context-awareness across all apps, powerful instant actions, time-saving meeting summaries, accessible voice commands, and solid privacy features (including local model support) make it feel like a natural extension of my Mac. Honestly, I can't imagine my workday without Alter readily accessible – it's that integrated and essential now.

It integrates so seamlessly into my daily workflows that using it has become second nature—and I’m only scratching the surface of what it can do. It’s truly an incredible tool. Alter has become my most used app on my Mac. At first glance you may think it is just another LLM application, but once you start using it you notice how it improves your workflow drastically; from context/app awareness, drag file to notch for insights, right click on file and select sent to Alter. It makes using LLM faster. Another feature I like is Alter can auto select the best LLM for the task you send it (you can change to a specific one it you like).
Completely changed the way I interact with AI on my Mac: no more switching between windows or chats—literally instant access to countless flagship models in a matter of seconds. Dictation, workspaces, and floating windows that can be minimized with a fast access to previous interactions are just a tip of the iceberg... Love the Smart Pasting that preserves the formatting I need and AppSense that allows AI to interact with the apps and everything else I have on the screen, and even beyond that! These two are practically a killer feature that made me choose Alter for making it a true smart assistant living under the notch.
alter helps me a lot during a workday. Super helpful is, that alter alway knows my context. Anything on screen can be used for context. Pictures, open Apps, markings in a long text, ... I use it often for crafting a answer to an mail. Just open alter, give the open mail as context and ask for an answer to that open mail on screen. Done. No hustle with open windows, cut'n paste text, etc etc. Next thing I'm looking into: auto-summarize meetings. This is a banger !
