Even after their convoluted installation and setup, they don't work and the customer service is non-existent (unless you count the canned/bot excuses about how they're temporarily back logged). Notice how none of the blogs that tout their product have any comment sections? Because they'd be inundated with real experiences. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
I hold an Australian mobile with Telstra and recently travelled to the UK and Canada (Oct 2022). I got Airalo as my first eSim experience and was connected within minutes of downloading the app to my mobile. It worked throughout the UK, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Isle of Skye. A few weak patches here and there but compared to my husband's eSim with another provider, i had no issues whilst my husband didn't have signal outside any cities. My next destination was Canada. I purchased some data before leaving the UK and was connected to Telus by the time I landed. I definitely recommend it, although still expensive for small data load. Ensure you connect to WIFI whenever its available to save on data.
First experience with eSIM. After some research, we have decided to give Airalo a try during our recent trip to Asia (Taiwan, Macao, Thailand). All four iphones connected to locate internet service flawlessly without issues. Connections were quick. Set up was easy. Just a few buttons (instructions were clearly provided during sign up) rather than switching physical SIM cards at each country was hassle free. Highly recommended. Two thumbs up!!
Ok so just like most of the reviews here, my top-up never worked! I should have trusted the rating in here before I purchased Airalo. My first account’s top-up never worked. The only solution for me to get data was to create a new account and buying an altogether new plan. So the top-up I bought was for nothing. Money wasted. And guess what, customer service not helpful at all. Anyway, for the second time with my new Airalo account, my top-up did not work again. Airalo keeps saying it automatically kicks in but nope! Its frustrating if you are in constant move and if you are in a location with scarce wifi! Never using it again.
