Hey ProductHunt!
Here are the core ideas behind Xcloc:
- Based on your past behavior, we can predict a day plan optimized for long-term success. That's where the "Plan&Go Now" button comes in.
- To achieve this, a structured list of activities is essential. Structuring and scheduling can be exhausting, so we've automated some of it with the "Activity" button.
- Most of us take notes, or at least, we should. Why not enhance them with rich metadata to bolster the "Plan&Go Now" feature?
- Given the sensitivity of the data and metadata, we've ensured end-to-end encryption. Only the user, as the keyholder, can access the most sensitive data.
That's the gist of it.
What is on our roadmap?
- Notes transcription and summarization and other LLM related tasks without external API dependency (for privacy reasons)
- Semantic search
- Voice control
- Data export
- Third party apps integrations (Notion, Jira, Trello, Todoist, et al. we don't want to replace them, we want to complement)
- public API
We're thrilled to share our raw app (available for iOS and Silicon Macs; other platforms coming soon) with you. We eagerly await your feedback.
Thank you!
@jackson_huge Thank you! We believe so. We know that if you take notes frequently valuable ideas emerge, especially if your note taking is searchable and flexible. Many ideas require frequent assessment of what's worth doing and that's expensive. We want to make this process as cheap as possible. Automate as much as possible yet leave the true key decisions on user and make those decisions a breeze (reorder by importance by drag&drop, let the urgencies being recomputed continuously) and then let the behavioral model do it's best: an optimization.
It is very important to maximize your productivity. Often times we tend to not know where to start when we have a bunch of things to do. This could be overwhelming. So nice that your product might help overcome that and schedule our tasks. Congrats on todays launch!
@sandradjajic Exactly, overwhelming, that's when so called "decision paralysis" kicks in. And that is the exact purpose of xcloc's "Plan&Go Now!" aka Big Blue Button is, to overcome decision paralysis: You just push the button, the plan is generated based on your personality and context and the app will ask you in some time like "are you doing what you've commited to do?".
Congratulations on the launch of xcloc! The combination of notes, AI task management, and anti-procrastination is truly impressive. I can already imagine how beneficial this would be for busy professionals and students alike. How did you come up with the idea for xcloc and what inspired you to include the anti-procrastination feature?
@naveed_rehman I was solving my own problem, which is mild ADHD, which was always quite beneficial to me in terms of always thinking outside the box, creative nature and so. But at some settings it might be really devastating for example if more exhausting factors combine (work issues * family issues * time) you then realize you are pretty down under the things. So you need something to organize yourself with. Because I was used to Jira professionally I tried to set a personal Jira project (So I have multiple work accounts and one personal, crazy) but Jira is a non-flexible behemoth and the cost of task management is high. Higher than you can afford pay if you are down under the things. Notion experience was quite nice, but it's just too flexible and it allows for too much complexity. Plus I really hate the moment when I want to take a quick note and the app loads & syncs really slow sometimes, than I need to find the proper place where the note belongs and become distracted by the technical problems.
So I wrote an app myself and become experimenting with computed prioritization and since I'm into neural networks a long time I instantly become modelling my behavior (successes&failures to finish a task which is in certain sequence of tasks in such and such context), predicting optimal sequence to be able to complete work assignments as well as not missing my personal projects. Then i realize I want to have one-stop-shop for self-management, and it need to be super secure, because those are sensitive things you write into your notes, your health data and geo data are very sensitive too. And I realized I would like to offer the solution to others which i relate to: to the ADHD folks, to high performing creative people with multiple interests and goals and many more. You say students. Yes, they are at the period of life when they need to learn to manage themselves and suddenly they need to optimize for multiple objectives which are in clash: education, socializing and mating amongst the most important.
Optimizing for multiple objectives with low management cost, that's the purpose of xcloc.
