Hey PH fam 👋 Excited to bring this much anticipated launch of Waitroom live to you all! I first came across the platform a while ago when it was being used by top business leaders and pop culture icons to get closer to their fans and build deeper relationships. I experimented with a weekly AMA talk show myself and had so much fun. I was stunned by the power of using time-boxed slots and allowing your audience to take turns so everyone gets a chance. Waitroom just made this experience ridiculously smooth and simple! A few months later, the team informed me about their subsequent product iteration into the b2b space to find ways to make meetings suck less. In most companies, the traditional stand-ups, weekly team meetings, All Hands sessions etc. are largely un-organized and inefficient so I knew this was a huge opportunity. Quite naturally, I was more than eager to bring this platform to the larger PH world and help more global teams discover the power of Waitroom. Why I'm bullish 👀: Features like "AI-powered Summaries, Bite-Size Clips, Queue and Timer" are extremely powerful in enhancing the overall productivity of teams and orgs. More importantly, Waitroom's team seems to deeply care about making sure everyone's voice is heard by designing helpful tools like "Reactions" or "Chime In" where even the non-presenting members of the meeting can participate actively. To put it simply, Waitroom is building the future of meetings 🚀 The Waitroom's team is here all day to answer your questions. Feel free to share your thoughts, feedback and questions below: ⤵️

@thisiskp_ I think it will make our meetings more efficient. It's great to have an AI summarize it for us! How accurate is it? (Also, the video is pretty intuitive and nice).
Michael Gaylord
@thisiskp_ @frida_lee Thanks for the kind words. The auto summarization feature - from our internal testing - is pretty accurate. It sometimes gets things a little wrong but we rolled out our GPT4 support last week and that's improved it by miles. If something is a bit confusing or you need more clarification you can always rewatch the clip - which is shorter than watching the entire meeting. I would say it's around 80% accurate at the moment with major improvements coming when we launch Summa our context-aware meeting assistant in the next few months.

@thisiskp_ what a great tool 🔥

@thisiskp_ Thanks for all the support KP!!

@thisiskp_ Really impressive idea! By the way, I run a directory of great ai tools (producthunt.com/products/wikiaitools). Check it out and see if it would be okay to include your product in it? Leave a comment to let me know!

Hey there Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Vinny, the CEO of Waitroom, we're on a mission to shake up the broken culture of conventional remote meetings! We all know meetings can be a bit of a mess - time is wasted, chaos ensues, and it's often an unpleasant experience. That's why we've built a brand new meeting platform that's aiming to rock the boat with some controversial core features… 🎛️ A Queue: People have to wait their turn to talk ⏲️ A Timer: Once it’s their turn in the queue, their timer starts and they need to be brief, no waffling here! 👀 No cameras on for viewers: Unless they’re talking, they’re off camera 🤖 AI Powered: Waitroom is powered by a robust AI Meeting Assistant Intrigued yet? We've been working hard for almost a year to bring you this game-changing platform, and we're thrilled to share it with you today! Thank you to the whole Waitroom team for making this a reality, and a big shoutout goes to @thisiskp_ for hunting us! 🚀 🌱 Let me take you back Waitroom originated as a tool for celebrities, business moguls, and social media influencers to connect with their communities and fans. And guess what? We had the likes of Tan France from Netflix and Jimmy Wales, the co-founder of Wikipedia, (to name only a few) join the platform! As we progressed, we noticed an interesting trend with Waitroom. The same people who were using our platform to watch their favorite figures expressed a desire to use Waitroom for their team meetings. At the same time, we were using Waitroom daily for all our own meetings and found it invaluable. From daily stand-ups to all-hands, our meetings were shorter, more efficient, and everyone got to participate and have their say. Waitroom simply made us better communicators, even in meetings held off-platform. This inspired us to conduct extensive user research to understand the pains and frustrations associated with traditional meeting platforms. We were surprised at the depth of the struggles people face every day with things like disorganization, interruptions, and lack of team engagement. As a team, we realized how lucky we were to have Waitroom as our own secret weapon, shielding us from these issues. And so, we knew we had to share our solution with the world! 💼 Waitroom now The Waitroom team went back under the hood with our research findings in mind and turned everything up a notch. Waitroom today is a powerhouse productivity tool designed to facilitate well-structured, collaborative meetings for remote business teams. We’re saying adios to the chaos and time-drain of conventional meeting approaches, and saying hello to a fresh chapter of efficiency and teamwork. With Waitroom, team members take turns speaking on camera during time-boxed slots while others listen off camera, preventing distractions and wasted time. The result? A more structured, efficient, and collaborative meeting experience that helps you achieve your goals. A preview of how Waitroom transforms your meetings: 🤖 AI-powered Summaries & Slack Integration: AI generates concise text summaries, bullet points, and clip titles for seamless post-meeting analysis and integration with tools like Slack. 🚆 Queue & Timer Combo: Organize participants into a timed queue to keep meetings running smoothly and efficiently. 🎥 Bite-sized Clips: Easily navigate, review, and share crucial meeting moments with context-specific, dynamic clips. 👥 Support for Large Meetings: Accommodate up to 2,000 team members without compromising on flow, or collaboration. 🔔 Chime In Build on ideas without dominating the room by contributing brief and collaborative input off-camera. 👀 Listen without Being Seen: Focus on the conversation, not the camera, and minimize distractions while off-camera. 😊 Reactions: Instantly read the room with tallied audience reactions, allowing participants to share feedback without interruptions. 🖥️ Screen-sharing: Showcase your work with a clean, user-friendly interface for seamless presentations and real-time feedback. 📱 Mobile App: Keep your team connected from anywhere with the Waitroom mobile app for remote work flexibility. 🤖 Waitroom of tomorrow This is just the beginning. @thisiskp_ @vinny_lingham congrats on the launch! great tool for communication and online meetings! I wish you success in its promotion!

Hey team, congrats on the launch! Great idea addressing a major pain point—unproductive online meetings. Question: how specifically do you implement AI in this solution? What does it enable as compared to other ‘conventional’ (non-AI)tools?
Michael Gaylord
Thanks @pavel_evteev With this release, there were two main AI focus points: We'd been experimenting with OpenAI's APIs for a few years now - mostly to generate keywords and titles for clips. When we started on our B2B tool, we realised that the summarisation output from davinci002 was good enough to provide to users after their meeting has ended. It wasn't perfect, but we're pleased to have full GPT4 integration which is an order of magnitude better. My philosophy on AI is to use it as a tool to reduce work for users. Meetings suck these days because there is tons of rambling and back-and-forth with droplets of insight here and there. The insight gets lost in the noise, so we wanted to build a tool that solves for the first and use AI to do all the conversation crunching to take care of the second. We have a number of more exciting, realtime features coming to Summa – our meeting assistant – that we're testing. My favourites are Catchup and Highlight. You can read more about them here: https://waitroom.com/landing/sum... and sign up for early accesss.

@mjgaylord Hey Michael, thanks for the clarification! Great to see we share same philosophy on AI :) Will definitely have a look at Summa. Good luck!!
