It's not about getting more done — it's about getting the right things done well. You can accomplish anything as long as you stay focused on your goals. Use a todo app that makes you say "no" to the small things, so you can say "yes" to the big things!
👋 Hello Product Hunters,
I’m David, indie maker of TodoPal, a todo app that helps you stay focused on big projects.
I've used a lot of productivity apps and learned that the ones that stick with me help me set big goals and work towards them slowly. Six years ago I set out to build my first startup and the hardest part was staying focused long-term. But, when I did stick it through, the results multiplied into new life and business opportunities!
⛈ The Problem:
Most todo apps make me feel good about checking off any old todo — not just the ones that count. As a founder and maker, the most important thing for me is getting the right things done — not just getting more things done. So I started thinking: how can I weigh my tasks against each other and only focus on the most important ones?
✅ TodoPal's Solution:
A simple, text-based todo list that splits your tasks into weeks — and forces you to choose which tasks will make it into this week and which ones have to be pushed to next week or 😵 the week after next week. I've found that forcing these hard decisions early makes me take a step back and refocus on what I really want to be doing with my time!
This app was built with love for solo startup founders, makers, and leaders who want to accomplish the impossible, but just need the ability to focus to get there!
Special thanks to @yodanparry, @xianmingchen, @nikita_jerschow1, @eduardosasso, @ramzesenok, @thomas_sanlis1, @charlierward, @justindiamondhq for cheering me on and giving me feedback as I built this out.
I hope you enjoy it! And I’m looking forward to your feedback.
How do you stay focused on your big, long-term goals?
Leave a comment below and perhaps I'll add it as a feature to TodoPal! ❤️
Ok, I had mixed feelings.
First one, uh another Todo, but I like the logo.
Second. The website is ugly af dude wow.
Then I though, if this person took the time to post it in PH and do a long video is because they believe it. Okay, let's check the video.
Third feeling. Wtf that video intro is strange, kinda awkward.
But! The moment you begin to show the app etc it starts to makes sense and I think you had a really good Idea and it is a super good mvp to start from. I'll take a look into it.
Good luck!
